Froedden is Golden as Nashville Fall League Gets Underway

The first week of action at the Tennessee Prep Hoops
Nashville Fall League got off to a rousing start with some close games and some
solid scoring outbursts.

Georgia Tech 89

Clemson 88

Montrae Williams
(Spring Hill) and Taylor Akers (CPA)
dangled 22 and 21 points respectively
and led Georgia Tech to a close 89-88 victory against a tough Clemson squad.

John Ross Glover (USJ)
finished as the games high scorer dropping 27 in the close defeat. Joining
the talented sophomore in the scoring column was Andrew Wilson (Brentwood) with 17, Clay Lineberry (TCA) with 15 and Cham Cham Quao (Webb
School)
with 12.

Jonathan Fields
(White's Creek)
finished with 18 for the winners.

Vanderbilt 65

Tennessee 62

Keenan Froedden
(Sycamore)
canned 28 markers and helped lift Vanderbilt to a 65-62 victory
over Tennessee
in the day's first contest. Froedden was outstanding on the day scoring from
the perimeter and some dazzling forays to the bucket.

Jess Morris (Harpeth)
added 16 in the win and Jalen
Lindsey (CPA)
contributed 12.

Jack "The Natural"
Montague (Brentwood)
finished with 15 to lead Tennessee. Landon Meier (CPA) and Jake Whitney (Ravenwood) finished with 11
and 10 respectively in the close loss.

Kentucky 73

Florida 56

Skylar Sims (CPA) was
the day's top scorer with 30, but it was not enough as Kentucky
used a more balanced attack and chomped Florida
73-56.

Chris Cox (Big Sandy) led Kentucky
with 20 points while Cole Robinson
(Blackman)
finished with 12.

Sims found creative to score his points yet it wasn't enough
to pull out the win.

Braxton Bonds (CPA) finished
with 11 for the victors and Jake Lazas (Brentwood) added 10.

Duke 66

North Carolina 62

Killen Middleton
(MTCS)
led five players in double digits as Duke heeled North Carolina
66-62 in one of the better games of the day.

Middleton would finish with 18 to lead Duke while his
supporting cast was a lesson in scoring balance. Eliot West (Brentwood) chipped in with 12, Dakota Priest (Nashville Christian) added
12 more, Lee Dreaden (Nashville Christian) dropped 11 and Robert Veal (Ravenwood) finished with
10.

Anvil Nelson
(Brentwood)
led all scorers with 22 for Carolina,
while James Cox (Brentwood)
added 20 in the loss.

I will post the top 10 scorers and the schedule for next
Saturday on Wednesday of this week. I will not be able to attend next weeks
games but will be there the following week on October 3rd.
