Week 1 of the Rocky Top Fall League took off this past Thursday. Lets take a look at how things shook out.
Team Mathieu 64
Team White 61
Cameron Soulgas (Seymour) dropped 18 markers as Team Mathieu started the evening off with a narrow 64-61 win over a determined Team White.
Zane Lawhon (Harriman) and Jordon McCollum (Harriman) added 15 each in the win.
Garrett Giles (Oak Ridge) led Team White with 15. He was assisted in the scoring column by King Hubbard (Bearden) with 13, Bennett Simerlein (CAK) with 13 and Andrew Baker (Bearden) with 10.
Team Meadows 72
Team Feltner 65
Hayden Craig (Anderson County) scored 22 points as Team Meadows opened league play up with a tough 72-65 win over Team Feltner.
Brandon Dake (Anderson County) added 15 in the win while Jack Townsend (King's Academy) had 13 and Patrick Carey (Hardin Valley) closed with 10.
Alex Akard (Maryville) led Team Feltner with 22 markers.
Zion Oliver (Carter) finished with 15 and Zane Brown (Carter) closed with 10 in the tough loss.
Team McNew 90
Team Sigmund 86
Denaj Kimber (Fulton) and Tyler Lee (Fulton) scored 21 and 20 respectively as Team McNew hung on late for a hard fought 90-86 win over a surging Team Sigmund.
Jayden Capshaw (Loudon) finished with 16 while Taj Kimber (Fulton) closed with 14 in the win.
Drake Ingram (Knoxville Webb) led all scorers with 23 while Jonathan Woodlee (Maryville) finished with 22 markers of his own.
Zavh Turner (Gibbs) closed with 13 in defeat.
Team Holt 78
Team Keeton 71
Nick Steen (Fulton) dropped 20 as Team Holt came out the gates on fire with a tough 78-71 win over a very good Team Keeton.
Joining Steen on the scoring brigade were Kaleb Walker (Powell) with 17, Wade Whaley (Gatlinburg-Pittman) added 16 and Tahj Bowers (Knoxville Webb) closed with 14.
Caleb Asbaty (Knoxville Catholic) and Aaron Layne (Kingston) led Team Keeton with 18 points each.
Aiden Van Acker (Farragut) added 12 while Mason Keeton (Oneida) finished with 11.
Team Murphy 102
Team Chandler 95
Cade Murphy (Knoxville Catholic) led a six pack of scorers in double digits as Team Murphy cruised to an opening night victory with a 102-95 win over Team Chandler.
The scoring column read as follows: Jailon Hill (Knoxville West) finished with 18, Jayson Gainey (Knoxville Catholic) added 15, Matthew White (Lenoir City) closed with 11 and Dane Britton (Knoxville West) and Juice Eleam (Knoxville Catholic) had 10 points each.
Cade Capps (Stone Memorial) led all league scorers with a 34 point effort.
Isaac McNeely (Jellico) added 21 while Derek Elder (South Doyle) closed with 11 and Michael Marsh (Heritage) finished with 10.
Team Webb 88
Team Seagle 60
Balanced scoring was the recipe for Team Webb as Grady Robertson (William Blount) dropped 22, Caden Windle (William Blount) dangled 21 and Brennan Scott (Oak Ridge) added 20 as Team Webb sailed past Team Seagle 88-60.
Ryan McGhee (Anderson County) chipped in with 14 in the win.
Jyden Barton (Sevier County) led his quad with 16 markers followed closely by Reed Ownby (Sevier County) with 13.
