Week 1 of the Rocky Top D-League took off this past Tuesday. Lets take a look at how things shook out.
Team Dawson 88
Team Clark 79
Robert Shuler (Knoxville West) and Ivan Moskalenko (Lakeway Christian) dropped 25 and 19 points respectively as Team Dawson took the opener 88-79 over Team Clark.
Dalin James (Oak Ridge) added 13 while Justice West (Oak Ridge) closed with 10 for the victors.
Rock Rogers (Hardin Valley) took league high scoring honors for the day with a massive 35 point effort in the loss.
Charlie Taubenheim (Oak Ridge) added 15 and Ethan James (Oak Ridge) closed with 10 in the narrow defeat.
Team Jameson 70
Team Holt 58
Malachi Brown (Kingston) led all scorers with 21 points as Team Jameson opened up Rocky Top D-League action with a sturdy 70-58 win over Team Holt.
Joining Brown on the scoring brigade were Aden O'Leary (Kingston) with 17 and Parker Hampton (Knoxville Central) and Warren Brown (Kingston) who both ended with 11.
Eli Williams (Heritage) dropped 19 to lead his squad.
Sean Capshaw (Bearden) closed with 15 while Jack Brillhart (Bearden) finished with 10.
Team Rutherford 83
Team Sewell 62
Brandon Murphy (Bearden) led a five spot of double digit scorers with 19 as Team Rutherford rushed out of the gate with an 83-62 win over Team Sewell.
Brady Harris (Cumberland Gap) added 15, Sam Ward (Maryville) closed with 14 while Skyler Miracle 9Union County), Kaden Carroll (Union County) and Luke Robertson (Maryville) all finished with 11.
Javon Dirl (Knoxville Webb) led Team Sewell with 13. He was followed up by Jonah Harvey (CAK) and Foster Coleman (CAK) with 12, Antonio Stewart (Austin East) with 11 and Leekon Curry (Austin East) with 10.
Team Tummell 76
Team McGhee 38
Cam Lawson (Anderson County) dropped 17 as Team Tummell came out the starting gates on fire grabbing a 76-38 triumph over Team McGhee.
Lincoln Tummell (Anderson County) and Ethan Strange (Knoxville Halls) added 13 each in the win.
Eli Ownby (Maryville) led all scorers with 20 in the loss.
Quinn Coykendall (Gatlinburg-Pittman) added 11.
Team Farhat 77
Team Keeton 68
Britton Lewis (Farragut) and Daniel Lanning (Farragut) dropped 22 and 18 respectively as Team Farhat took their opener with a hard fought 77-68 win over Team Keeton.
Jack McAbee (Seymour) added 11 in the win while Noah Lakin (Powell) closed with 10.
Braden Huffaker (Sevier County) did his best in the loss finishing with 22 points.
He was assisted in the scoring column by Will Harper (Lenoir City) with 14 and Grady Keeton (Oneida) with 10.
Team Walden 93
Team Buell 64
Carson Asbaty (Knoxville Catholic) scored a game high 24 markers as his squad bested Team Buell 93-64 in opening night action at the Rocky Top D-League.
Asbaty was joined in the scoring column by a host of teammates including Charlie Van Winkle (Stone Memorial) with 17, Greyson Watson (Carter) with 13 and Dave Stokes (Carter) with 10.
Trey Vann (Jellico) finished with 15 to lead Team Buell.
Isaac Kelch (Loudon) added 13 while Jason Schwartz (Karns) and Laken Jolley (Rockwood) each finished with 11.
