Wilkerson Shines in Week #3 CBL Action

Telvin Wilkerson (Melrose) dropped 16 markers, grabbed 5 boards and dished out 10 dimes while leading his Knicks to a 90-87 victory over the Pistons. For his efforts Wilkerson was named CBL Player of the Week.

Enjoying the benefit from Mr. Wilkersons unselfish nature, Nate Rucker (Melrose), finished with 26 points and found time to grab 9 boards and Walter Davis (Southwind) added 21 points in the victory.

The Pistons got 30 points and 12 boards from Jamal Conley (Melrose) and 11 points from Chris Crawford (Sheffield).

In other action Tyler Stone (Memphis Central) continued his personal assault on the Memphis hoops scene dropping 23 points and 8 boards while leading his Lakers to an upset of the previously unbeaten Bulls. Joseph Northington (Manassas) added 18 points in the win.

The Bulls got 28 and 12 from Quienton Lowe (Melrose) and 21 from super sophomore Adonis Thomas (Melrose).

In the opening game the Timberwolves stayed unbeaten behind 18 points each from Laterick Flowers and Anthony Jones (Raleigh-Egypt) and squeaked by the Haet 69-66. Darius Paige (Southwind) added 10 points and 7 assists in the win.

Ronald Brown (Raleigh-Egypt) led the Heat with 19 in defeat.
