Travs Picking up Where They Left Off….Kentucky Hoopfest Preview

Just like they left it.

Nice motto for the 15 and under Tennessee Travelers. The Travs finished in the final eight at the Hoosier Shootout then made the trip to the Bluegrass State to continue where they left off.

Galen Campbell (Bearden) sinks two foul shots and scores 23 points to lift the Travs to an opening pool play win 67-65 against Charlotte Court. Campbell remains impressive in his summer skills debut and has much more to show us as the month is only two weeks old.

The Travelers got a sterling performance from Tres Palmer (Powell). The big man knocked down 16 points in a close and tough game. Also drawing some praise for their efforts Rico White (Bearden) and Jordan Cross (Sullivan East).

The Travs are the lone representative in the field from Tennessee in the 15 and under division, but the other two age groups are chock full of Volunteer state representation.

In the 16 and under set the Tennessee Tigers led by David Woodard (East Robertson), David Sanders (MLK) and Reggie Gilmore (Tyner Academy) are more than ready to get the summer underway. The Tennessee Trailblazers who feature Cameron Langley (Maryville), Micah Ballard (William Blount) and Zach Witherspoon (Oak Ridge) also begin play today in Louisville. The Tennessee Heat also represents the 16 and under division.

Over in the 17's the Chattanooga Thunder fresh off a 2-2 finish at the Hoosier Shootout begin action today and the Tennessee YOMCA Tigers bring their semi-depleted roster to KY led by Zaccheus Mason (CPA), Hunter Miller (CPA) and the Ensworth trio of Gary Pope, Miles Asafo-Adjei and Taverres Jefferson.

Tyler Clark (Oak Ridge), Chris Poteet (Campbell County) and Tucker Trent (Oak Ridge) lead the Tennessee Blue Devils into action today.

I will keep you posted as information comes my way.
