This is why they play the games.

Team United formerly the United Celtics was the opponent and on their squad they featured four potential D1 signees inlcuding Ian Miller who has signed with Florida State and is a Top 100 player.

This hardly mattered at all to this Team Nashville.

Robert Wade (Maplewood) converted an off balance shot to tie things at 73 with seconds on the clock and an untimely techinal foul call gave Emmanuel Andrews (Shelbyville) and Holden Mobley (MBA) two shots each from the charity stripe....result 77-75 Team Nashville victory.

The Music city crew managed five players in double digits including Fred Lee (Maplewood),who led with 16. Andrews added 15 and Daniel McFadden (Ensworth) did his dirty work inside scoring 13, inlcuding a three and some timely putbacks and offensive boards against bigger and stronger players. Awesome effort.

Teraes Clemmons (Mt. Juliet) added 12 and Wade finished with 10.

Team Nashville went on to win their pool and was playing in their opening round of bracket play this evening more results from their adventures tomorrow.

Meanwhile over in the 16 and under division the Middle Tennessee Magic kept their hope alive dropping Baylor Basketball and moving on in bracket action. Malcolm Smith (Clarksville Academy) was huge with a monsterous double/double and Zavion Williams (Clarksville) was dynamic scoring in transition and keeping plays alive with hustle and sheer effort.

More from the Knox Vegas Heat tomorrow.
