Rocky Top Fall League Week #4 Game Capsules

With the regular season about to come to a close, teams are positioning themselves for Championship Sunday. Here are the results from a spirited Week #4 at the Rocky Top Fall League.

 

 

 

 

 

Team Julian 79

Team Steinmetz 70

 

Akeem Odusipe (Knoxville Catholic) drops 18 as Team Julian moves to 2-2 with a hard fought 79-70 win over Team Steinmetz.

 

Chad Hegler (Daniel Boone) and Wes Maples (Sevier County) each added 17 markers while Evan Winchester (Clinton) finished with 14 in the victory.

 

Rhett Nelson (Oakdale) and Marcus Smith (Oak Ridge) scored 18 and 17 respectively for Team Steinmetz who falls to 0-4.

 

 

 

Team Upchurch 82

Team O'Hara 80

 

Joe Anderson (Maryville) scored 23 markers as Team Upchurch got into the win column with a big 82-80 win over Team O'Hara.

 

Contributions were many for the victors with six players in double digits including Christian Gale (Maryville) with 13, Elmo Gara (Maryville) with 12, Roger Meadows (York Institute) with 11 and Grant Reardon (William Blount) and Colin McGurk (Seymour) with 10 each.

 

Trey West (Fulton) and Noah Harris (FBA) each finished with 24 in the tough loss. Ty Hurst (Carter) added 17 while Tevon Summers (Knoxville Central) closed with 13.

 

 

 

Team Feltner 70

Team Sewell 67

 

Mello Wadsworth (Dobyns-Bennett) scored 18 as Team Feltner moved to 3-1 on the season with a narrow 70-67 win over a surging Team Sewell.

 

Grant Ledford (Grace Christian) added 17 while Jared Strickland (Dobyns-Bennett) finished with 12 and Makai Olden (Morristown West) ended with 10.

 

Dante Harris (Gateway Christian) led all scorers with 22 and Ben Knight (Gateway Christian) finished with 14.

 

 

 

Team Watts 74

Team Cate 71

 

Kendrick Holland (South Doyle) was the BMOC dropping 30 points as Team Watts (3-1) moved into first place in the Prestige Division with a 74-71 win over Team Cate (2-2).

 

Joining Holland on the scoring parade were Travon Jackson (Karns) with 13 and Will Brown (Farragut) with 10.

 

Balanced scoring was the mantra for Team Cate as five landed in double digits led by rising freshman B.J. Edwards (Knoxville Catholic) with 14, Luke Burnett (Knoxville Webb) and Cameron George (William Blount) with 11 each and Tariq Daughton (Knoxville Webb) and Uriah Powers (Knoxville Webb) with 10 each.

 

 

 

Team Patterson 92

Team Morton 80

 

Emilio Cornelio (Maryville) hit 11 threes and finished with a league high 37 points as Team Patterson moved to 3-1 with a 92-80 win over Team Morton (0-4).

 

Handje Tamba (Knoxville Catholic) added 26 while Presley Patterson (Knoxville Catholic) ended with 15.

 

Emory Lanier (Knoxville Webb) had a strong game closing with 26 points in the loss. David Sanger (Knoxville Webb) added 19, Barron Nease (Union County) closed with 14, Landon Oaks (Union County) clipped 13 and Jacob Kenner (Cherokee) ended with 10.

 

 

 

Team Arnold 60

Team Steinmetz 58

 

C.J. Gettlefinger (Grace Christian) scored a game high 26 but a slick in-bounds play in the waning seconds was the difference as Team Arnold took sole possession of first place in the Worldwide Division with a 60-58 win over previously unbeaten Team Haskell (3-1).

 

Tyler Nordin (Bearden) finished with 14 in the win.

 

Trent Stephney (Bearden) and Blake Atwood (Johnson County) scored 16 points each for Team Haskell. Connor Haskell (Berean Christian) added 12 in the tough loss.
