EOTO and Chattanooga Elite Start Strong in April

The first weekend of the "Live Period" saw teams from all over Tennessee make some noise. Lets take a trip around and see who did what and where.

 

 

 

 

 

EOTO 2019

 

EOTO finished 4-0 in pool play before falling with their only blemish in the Gold Bracket play playing at the Adidas Qualifier in Indianapolis.

 

Connor Jordan (Morristown East) led the scoring with 19 points as EOTO took their opener 73-67 over the Mid-Ohio Pumas. Teahzuwon Harper-Hodge (Karns) finished with 13 in the win.

 

Trent Stephney (Bearden) turned some heads with his efforts this weekend including leading the scoring barrage with 13 as EOTO moved to 2-0 with an 80-71 win over Canada Elite. Harper-Hodge added 12 while Shamarcus Brown (Bearden) and Jaevon Gillespie (Greeneville) pitched in with 10 apiece.

 

Jordan was huge again with a 25 point effort as EOTO pushed up on 3-0 with a tough 76-58 win over Greenwood Elite.

 

In the final pool game, Harper-Hodge dropped 14, Stephney added 11 and Brown finished with a double/double as EOTO cruised past Apex Basketball Club 68-61.

 

EOTO would suffer its only blemish of the weekend at the hands of Gateway Basketball Club 71-56.

 

 

Chattanooga Elite Navy 2019

 

The Phenom Hoops Challenge in lovely Greeneville, South Carolina was the site for a strong opening weekend finish for the Chattanooga Elite 17 and under crew.

 

Anthony Watkins (McCallie) and Jordan Crawley (Grace Christian) scored 24 and 20 points respectively as the Elite opening the action with a 74-54 win over the EA Prep Stars. Torian Daly (Stewart's Creek) added 11 while Fred Norman (Georgia) closed out with 10.

 

Crawley and Solomon Bridgeman (Tyner Academy) scored 13 points each as the Elite fell in their second contest to the Memphis Preps, a squad made up of graduating seniors.

 

Crawley took scoring honors again with 12 as the Elite dropped their second contest 57-55 on a buzzer beater to Team 727, incidentally another squad primarily made up of graduating seniors.

 

The Elite came back strong in their final contest drubbing the Pro Line Select 83-59. Bridgeman was massive with a 25 point, p9 rebound effort in the victory. Watkins had another big game with 15 points and 10 boards while Crawley added 17 and Daly closed with 13.
