Class AA

Livingston Academy

Hometown: Livingston

Nickname: Wildcats

Record: 32-2

District: 7AA

Region: 4AA

Coach: Richard Melton

Top Players: Chase Dunn, T.J. Smith, Deven Ramsey

Region Final: 75-46 winner over Upperman

Sub-State: 82-69 winner over Tyner Academy

Preview:

This version of the Hog-Eye is much more prepared for the rigors of state. Chase Dunn is the heart and soul of the Wildcats but they have others who can score, including talented junior T.J. Smith, or pick up the slack when needed. The Ctas drew a tough opening round opponent in Bolivar Central and this game will surely be an instant classic.

Bolivar Central

Hometown: Bolivar

Nickname: Tigers

Record: 26-3

District: 12AA

Region: 6AA

Coach: Rick Rudesill

Top Players: Chris Reaves, Des Crisp, Jay Murphy

Region Final: 59-40 winner over Harpeth

Sub-State: 71-44 winner over Marshall County

Preview:

Long and athletic the staples of every team that has come from the city of Bolivar and this edition is no different. Talented at almost every spot they ooze athleticism and get after you on the defensive side of the floor.  Reaves and Crisp will be a handful for the Wildcats but the x-factor will be precocious Ricky Tisdale, little guy with a big heart.

Fulton

Hometown: Knoxville

Nickname: Falcons

Record: 27-6

District: 3AA

Region: 2AA

Coach: Jody Wright

Top Players: James Gallman, Jalen Steele, Robert Boyd

Region Final: 62-47 winner over Knoxville Carter

Sub-State: 55-49 winner over Unicoi County

Preview:

Welcome back the defending Class AA state champions to the Murphy Center. Gallman has used the playoffs to return to normalcy and Steele is bombing away from deep into the Knoxville night. The key to the Falcons success may ride with Boyd, a third scorer who could be difference for the Falcons.

Sheffield

Hometown: Memphis

Nickname: Knights

Record: 19-14

District: 16AA

Region: 8AA

Coach: Clyde Delamar

Top Players: Chris Crawford, Montrell Crawford, Robert Shaffer

Region Final: 78-66 loss to BTW

Sub-State: 73-67 winner over Covington

Preview:

Do not make the mistake of taking the Knights lightly because of their record.  This team found their groove late and is now determined to make some noise...Memphis style. Crawford is dangerous with the ball and should be priority one for the Falcons.
