Cannon Explodes as Anderson County Gets Big Win

Team Lee 69

Team Johnson 67

Matt Cox (Knoxville Catholic) led a band of five players in double digits as Team Lee moved their record to 2-2 with a narrow 69-67 win over Team Johnson.

 

Joey Boedwig (Knoxville Catholic) sank 14 points, Aaron Wheeler (Morristown East) banged home 12 and Lucas Branch (Knoxville Catholic) and Emery Naler (CAK) added 11 each in the tough win.

 

Spencer Peake (Bearden) led the way for Team Johnson with 12 markers. Phillip Stanford (Knoxville West) added 11 and Will Winton (Bearden) finished with 10 points.

 

Team Pierson 77

Blount County 57

Lester "The Action Figure" Wilson (Carter) fresh off a week where he committed to play his college ball at ETSU dropped 36 points and Team Pierson moved past Blount County 77-57.

 

Dre Mattheiu (Knoxville Central) added 14 points and Drew Standifer (Bearden) continued his outstanding play with 10 points.

 

Alex Tipton (Maryville) led Blount County with 14 points, Matt Shown (Alcoa) and T.J. Kimble (Maryville) finished with 11 each.

 

 

Team Nabors 70

Cumberland/Roane County 65

Rico White (Bearden) banged home 17 points leading Team Nabors to a 70-65 win over Cumberland/Roane County.

 

White had the hot hand early and was joined in the scoring column by a host of teammates including JuJuan Williams (Knoxville West) with 13, Tres Palmer (Powell) and Zack Stinnett (Maryville) both with 12 and rising freshman Oteriah Lee (CAK).

Jethro Griffin (Sequoyah) had a nice game finishing with 16 for Cumberland/Roane. Cory Billingsley (Sweetwater), Jordan Huddleston (Kingston) and Ethan Hayes (Anderson County) all finished with 10 points.

 

 

 

Anderson County 87

Team Kimber 75

Ross Cannon (Anderson County) continued his scoring assault on the Fall League dropping 19 points leading Anderson County to an 87-75 win over previously unbeaten Team Kimber. The win moves Anderson County, Team Kimber and Team Pierson into a three way tie for first with one more week of league action to come.

 

Cannon made room in the scoring column for fellow Maverick Alan Holt (Anderson County) who added 18 points and a pair of Atomic City fellows, Lonnie McClanahan (Oak Ridge) and Tyrece Irons (Oak Ridge) who finished with 15 and 11 respectively.

 

Brandon Lopez (Austin East) led all scorers with 23 points in the tough loss. Jaylen Allen (Science Hill) contributed 19 points and rising sophomore Shannon Hale (Science Hill) added 14.

 

 

 

Tri-Cities 83

Sevier County 62

Logan Lyle (Unicoi County) blistered the twine for a game high 19 points and Tri-Cities rebounded from their first loss to take the division lead with an 83-62 win against a solid Sevier County squad.

 

Dustin Clarke (North Carolina) added 16 points and Jordan Cross (Sullivan East) pitched in with 15 points. Cory Conard (Cosby) added 10 points in the win.

 

Jose Agosto (Gatlinburg-Pittman) led Sevier County with 13 points. Morrease Barber (Gatlinburg-Pittman) finished with 11 points.

 

 

 

 

Team Naler 92

Union County 77

Galen "G-Smoov" Campbell (Fulton) dropped the big 40 as Team Naler captured their second straight win with a 92-77 victory over a battling Union County team.

 

New Falcon teammate Jaeland Lawson (Fulton) had an outstanding game adding 26 points in the win. Kyle Anders (Knoxville Catholic) added 14 in the win.

 

Chase Buckner (Union County) was quietly outstanding scoring 25 points and snatching double digit caroms in the loss.

 

Phillip Cox (Union County) finished with 18 points and Nick Litton (Campbell County) added 17.
