Campbell Lights Things Up in Week #2

Week #2 of the Pilot Rocky Top High School Fall League saw
some outstanding games with some very close finishes as the teams gear up for
the final week of league play on the 5th.

 

Team Kimber 69

Team Hunley 58

 

Jalen Steele (Fulton)
scored 22 points including two sic baseline jams, to lead Team Kimber (2-0)
past Team Hunley (1-1) 69-58. Steele was all over the court hitting some threes
and those aforementioned baseline dunks. Reggie
Garrett (Fulton)
added 16 in the win and Terry Roberts (Gibbs) finished with 12
points, making up for the absence of Robert
Boyd (Fulton),
who
was on a recruiting visit.

Will Winton (Bearden)
continues to surprise scoring 22 points in the loss and becoming one of the
most talked about hoopers in the gym. Joey
Boedwig (Catholic)
added 10.

 

Team Pierson 55

Team Johnson 51

 

Team Pierson (2-0) absorbed a potential game winning attempt
by Joey Macourek (Powell) to hold
off a determined Team Johnson (0-2) 55-51. Lester
Wilson (Carter)
was the games high scorer with 18, including 16 in the
second half. Brett Wade (Central) contributed
12 and JuJuan Williams (Knoxville West) added 11. Lemar Gipson (Fulton) was huge on the glass in this
game keeping possessions alive late and getting his squad numerous second
chance points.

Devin Jackson (Knoxville West) and
Jaylen Allen (Science Hill)
both scored 12 for Team Johnson.

 

Team Laverdiere 53

Team Benjamin 42

 

Tyler Vittetoe (Union County)
laced the twine for 19 markers leading Team Laverdiere (1-1) to a nice
53-42 win over Team Benjamin (1-1). Vittetoe was complimented in the scorebook
by Tanner Torres (Anderson
County)
with 12 and Alan Holt (Anderson County)
with 10.

Lane Gonzalez (Oak Ridge) was the
lone double digit scorer for Team Benjamin with 11.

 

Team Brown 65

Team Buckner 59

 

Rasham Suarez
(Gatlinburg-Pittman)
scored 20 points to lead Team Brown (2-0) past Team
Buckner (0-2) 65-59. A nice inside battle between two big strong players was
the highlight of this game as rising junior Jose Agosto (Gatlinburg-Pittman), who would finish with 13, and Dennis Ramsey (Claiborne), who finished
with 17, battled in the post most of the day. Austin Gardner (Morristown East) continued
his hot hand adding 13 and Marcus
Stewart (Cocke County)
finished with 10.

Joining Ramsey in the scoring column, newcomer Dustin Clark (Hampton),
made his league debut a successful one adding 15, while Tyler Smith (Anderson County)
finished with 11 for Team Buckner.

 

Team Stewart 77

Team McNeeley 64

 

Jezreel "Macho"
DeJesus (Gatlinburg-Pittman)
scored 21 points and helped lead Team Stewart
(1-1) past a battling Team McNeeley (1-1) 77-64. Marquis Wall (Gatlinburg-Pittman) added 14 for the victors.

Cameron Langley (Maryville) led Team
McNeeley with 16 and Ty McBrayer
(William Blount)
added 10.

 

Team Watts 83

Team Naler 75

 

Galen Campbell
(Fulton)
dropped a league high 27 points and his running mate Dwight Tarwater (Knoxville Webb) added
17 to lead Team Watts (1-1) past Team Naler (0-2) 83-75.

Emery Naler (CAK) added
10 points in the win.

Balanced scoring could not lift Team Naler to the victory
yet they placed 6 players in double digits including: Matt Cox (Catholic) with 17, Dre
Matteiu (Central) and Jon McCroskey (Gatlinburg-Pittman)
with 14 each, Linwood Holloway (Central) with 12 and Gabe Dando (Alcoa) and Zach Sievers
(William Blount)
with 10 apiece.
