17’s Central Sub-State Proves To Be Strong

One of the better sub-states in the state will take place this weekend at Goodpasture High School.

The 17 and under Central Sub-State features a top heavy Pool A and a battle for admittance into the 17 and under state tourney in the coming weeks.

Pool A is stacked heavy with the Tennessee YOMCA Tigers, Team Nashville and Mid-State Ballerz East.

Tigers are led by Vanderbilt commitment and reigning AA Mr. Basketball John "Silk" Jenkins (Station Camp), Gary Pope (Ensworth), Hunter Miller (CPA), Josh Lee (Maplewood) and the Bearden trio of Blake Jenkins, Demonte Simpson and Gabe Campbell. It is uncertain whether the Tigers will be without the services of Zaccheus Mason (CPA) and Taverres Jefferson (Ensworth) both of who are coming off injuries.

Team Nashville features Adrian Williamson (Hume Fogg), Jonathan Williams (Rossview) and new addition Terreas Clemmons (Wilson Central).

Trey Carruthers (Harpeth) leads his Mid-State Ballerz East squad into battle. Caruthers has drawn much attention with his play thus far this summer and is ready to make more noise with his supporting cast led by LeShun Banks (Kenwood) and Dustin Craig (Bearden).

Pool B features the Tennessee Thunder, Tennessee Future Stars and Tennessee Spartans.

Michael Young (Franklin) and the Franklin Rage represent Pool C. The Rage have rested for a few weeks but with a healthy James Haddix (Franklin) hot shooters Peyton Henry (Franklin) and Kevin Kegarise (Franklin) they look to play on Sunday. Rounding out the rest of Pool C the Nashville Gators, Tam Nashville 16's and Southeast Tennessee Raiders.
