UAA Session I has that Tennessee Feeling

Session I of the Under Armour Association tipped off this weekend in Dallas. BMaze Elite and Team Thad represented very well for Tennessee, lets see how things went for them.

 

 

 

 

 

Team Thad 17U

 

The Memphis crew opened things up with a nice 61-58 victory over Team Thrill. Jaykwon Walton (Alabama) led the scoring with 19 markers. Ky Ky Tandy (Kentucky) had a big weekend including 12 in this contest while Damion Baugh (Tennessee Prep) continues to allow his stock to rise closed with 10 in the victory.

 

Tandy drops 15 as Team Thad moves to 2-0 with a 71-60 win over Team Breakdown. Walton added 11 in the victory.

 

Tandy had a big contest with 23 but Team Thad would suffer their first blemish of the UAA season falling 79-58 to the West Coast Elite. Walton finished with 12 for Team Thad.

 

Walton went for 18 as Team Thad righted the ship closing the first Session of the UAA at 3-1 with a 74-72 win over the Oklahoma Pump and Run. Tandy finished with 15 while Baugh added 14 in the win.

 

Coaches praised the efforts of several others including Tonio Thomas (Ridgeway), Luke Howard (Harding Academy) and Brandon Nichols (Tennessee Prep).

 

Session II of the UAA moves to Indianapolis this weekend.

 

 

 

BMaze Elite 17U

 

Jaden Springer (North Carolina) was outstanding throughout the event including a 14 spot as the BMaze Elite started slow but finished strong with a 65-52 loss to Team Charlotte at Session I of the UAA in Dallas.

 

Springer busted out for 26 as BMaze got back on the winning track with a 66-59 victory over KC Run GMC. Akeem Odusipe (Knoxville Catholic) added 16 markers and K.K. Curry (Prep School) finished with 11 in the win.

 

Springer again leveled a 26 as Powerhouse Hoops was the victim to the tune of 75-65. Curry added 12 and Drew Pember (Bearden) closed with 11.

 

Ques Glover (Bearden) introduced himself to the UAA members with a slick 23 point effort in an 83-61 win over 1 Nation. Springer added 18 while Curry closed with 16.

 

 

 

Team Thad 16U

 

A great weekend for the 16 and under Team Thad crew as they finished 3-1 in Session I.

 

Marvin Hughes (McGavock) dropped 21 and Roger McFarlane (Raleigh-Egypt) added 12 as Team Thad opened things up with a 64-38 crowing of Washington Supreme.

 

Hughes would lead the scoring again with 15 as the boys fell in a tough one 66-62 against WER1. Chris McKnight (Raleigh-Egypt) added 13 while McFarlane finished with 10.

 

McFarlane was on fire dropping 23 as team Thad got back in the win column thundering the Florida Lightning 71-47. Hughes closed with 13, Brandon Mason (Bartlett) finished with 11 and DeQuarius Harris (Kirby) got down with 10.

 

McFarlane continued his scoring barrage with 25 as Team Thad closed the Session with a 70-57 trouncing of the Louisiana Elite. Markeston Douglas (Haywood) finished with a double/double of 14 markers and 11 caroms. Hughes added 13 and Denver Jones (Tennessee Prep) closed with 12.

 

 

 

BMaze Elite 16U

 

The 16 and Under BMaze Elite had a bit of an up and down experience finishing 2-2 in Session I but a strong finish has them poised for a big run in Indianapolis this weekend.

 

Joe Anderson (Maryville) and Luke Burnett (Knoxville Webb) scored 13 and 11 respectively but the Elite fell to WER1 60-47.

 

Norance Berry (North Carolina) scored 15 as BMaze got things right stopping Team Breakdown 63-43. Emory Lanier (Knoxville Webb) finished with 10 points in the win.

 

Anderson had a huge game scoring 29 points but BMaze fell to one of the top teams in the Association, the Houston Defenders 72-69. Berry finished with 12 while Andrew Williams (East Hamilton) finished with 10.

 

Burnett got hot finishing with 18 as BMaze closed with a flourish and a 65-50 win over Sports U. Anderson and Dante Harris (Alcoa) closed with 12 each in the win.
