Two Hoops Towns… One Hoops Tourney

What a concept!!!

Take two of the best hoops factories in the world and play against each other for a tourney.

The Memphis vs. Atlanta Roundball Classic gets underway today with teams from the participating cities doing battle against one another.

Friday action begins at 2:30 with Fairley and junior guard Alan Farmer (Fairley) taking on Redan. Redan boasts Class of 2009 and Tennessee signee Kenny Hall.

Darius Whitson (Trezevant) and Cartrell Peterson (Trezevant) lead Memphis Trezevant to a 4:00 encounter with Atlanta Douglass.

Memphis Wooddale behind the scoring of Marquis Wilson (Wooddale) takes on Atlanta Mays in the 5:30 game.

The 7:00 game features powerful Raleigh-Egypt battling Atlanta Stephenson and UAB commitment Adrian Coleman. The Pharoahs are deep and talented behind Gentry Hines, Ronald Brown, Joe Brady and Anthony Jones.

The final contest of the evening pits defending AAA state champion Ridgeway against national power Atlanta Westlake. Ridgeway will be led by juniors Tarik Black and Marterrance Brock, while Westlake features two of the Class of 2010 top national products in Jelan Kendrick and Clemson commitment Marcus Thornton.
