Blount County 52

Ethan Abner (Clinton) scored 19 points and Lonnie McClanahan (Oak Ridge) added 16 as Anderson County clinched a spot in the championship game with a 70-52 victory over Blount County.

 

Anderson County won a point differential tie breaker against Team Pierson and Team Kimber to earn their way into the title game against Tri-Cities on Saturday at Maryville College.

 

Alan Holt (Anderson County) and Bradley Brooks (Scott) each finished with 11 points for the victors.

 

Cody Malicotte (Jellico) led Blount County with 10 points.

 

Blount County will play Team Nabors at 10:00 on championship Saturday at Maryville College.  

 

Team Lee 69

Sevier County 58

Aaron Wheeler (Morristown East) logged 18 points and Team Lee, by virtue of their earlier victory over Team Johnson, snagged second place in the Bradshaw Division with a 69-58 victory over Sevier County.

 

Wheeler was joined in the score books by Matt Cox (Knoxville Catholic) with 16, Casey Smith (Morristown East) with 13 and Emery Naler (CAK) with 12 points.

 

Team Lee will play Team Pierson at 2:00 at Maryville College on Saturday.

 

Davis Soehn (Gatlinburg-Pittman) led Sevier County with 15 big points. Sherrius Smith (Hardin Valley) added 10 points in the loss.

 

Sevier County will tangle with Cleveland #1 at 12:00 at Maryville College.

 

 

Team Kimber 84

Union County 66

The triumvirate of Jaylen Allen (Science Hill), Brandon Lopez (Austin East) and Shannon Hale (Science Hill) combined for 58 points as Team Kimber raced past Union County 84-66.

 

Rising sophomore and national Top 25 player Hale led the charge with 21 points, Lopez followed with 19 and Allen finished with 18.

 

Team Kimber will tangle with the always tough Team Johnson at 1:00 on Saturday at Maryville College.

 

Chase Buckner (Union County) led his squad with 13 points.

 

Union County will battle Cumberland/Roane County at 9:00 on Championship Saturday at Maryville College.

Team Nabors 76

WOW!!!!!!

Nathaniel Hughes (Hampton) snared a length of the court pass with seconds remaining on the clock and converted to give Tri-Cities a spot in the championship game this Saturday at Maryville College.

 

Rico White (Bearden) put Team Nabors up by one with an and one finish and only one tick remaining on the game clock.

 

Logan Lyle (Unicoi County) did his best impression of Peyton Manning heaving a Hail Mary towards the goal when Hughes went high and converted the chance.

 

Jordan Cross (Sullivan East) was the man for Tri-Cities scoring 26 points and keeping them in the game throughout the day.

 

Zach Garland (David Crockett) finished with 13 points, while Hughes added 12 and Cory Conard (Cosby) finished with 10.

 

White was spectacular finishing with a game high 32 points. Zach Stinnett (Maryville) added 12 and JuJuan Williams (Knoxville West) finished with 10.

 

Team Nabors will play Blount County at 10:00 on Saturday at Maryville College.

In a battle of the two scoring leaders in the Pilot Rocky Top High School Fall League, Galen Campbell (Fulton) got the advantage scoring 27 to Lester Wilson's (Carter) 24, but "The Action Figure" picked up the narrow victory 58-52.

 

With the win Team Pierson will tangle with Team Lee at 2:00 on Saturday at Maryville College.

 

Joining Wilson in the score sheets were Dre Mattheiu (Knoxville Central) with 14 points and Matt Queener (Fulton) with 10.

 

Jaleland Lawson (Fulton) added 15 for Team Naler, who will battle Cleveland #2 at 11:00 on Saturday at Maryville College.

 

 

 

 

Team Johnson 78

Cumberland/Roane County 68

Phillip "Tookie" Stanford (Knoxville West) scored 19 points leading Team Johnson past Cumberland/Roane County 78-68 in the days final game.

 

With the win Team Johnson will battle with Team Kimber at 1:00 on Saturday at Maryville College.

 

Team Johnson got some balanced scoring in addition to Stanford, Andy Barnette (Pigeon Forge) finished with 15 markers and Carson Brooks (Knoxville West) added 11.

 

Brock Rowan (Stone Memorial) led Cumberland/Roane with 16 points, while Cory Billingsley (Sweetwater) added 13 and Alex Fountain (Wartburg Central) finished with 12.

 

Cumberland/Roane will battle Union County on Championship Saturday at 9:00 at Maryville College.
