The new format seems to have been to the liking of the Tennessee Travelers 17 and under squad this past weekend at Boo Williams.

With the new Nike format the Travs played five games finishing 2 and 3 with wins over King James and the Birmingham Storm.

In the opening game the boys from the Volunteer state met the always powerful All Ohio squad and fell 82-56. Zach Garland (David Crockett) and Craig "The Professor" Bradshaw (Greenbrier) both finished with 10 points.

Galen "G-Smoov" Campbell (Fulton) scored 20 and Lester Wilson (Carter) added 19 in the 68-62 win over King James.

Campbell added 19 in the loss to D-1 Sports.

Bradshaw received praise for his efforts in the loss to the home team, Boo Williams. The rising sophomore, playing up and age group, knocked down several threes and kept the Travs in the game till the fourth quarter.

Campbell and Wilson finished as the leading scorers for the weekend, while Rico White (Bearden) was lauded for his defensive efforts against some of the top guards in his age group nationwide.

The Travelers 16 and under squad played hard and tough but suffered three defeats at the hands of some very good teams. Jaylen Allen (Science Hill), Braylen "Vitamin B" Bennett (Carter) and Montrae Williams (Spring Hill) were sighted for their excellent play all weekend
