Week #4 of the Rocky Top High School Fall League in Cleveland started to clear up the standings picture and help us as we get prepared for the final weekend of regular season games this Saturday at Cleveland High School. Let's get to the action.
Florida 92
Louisville 89
Four players scored double digits led by rising freshman Bradley McCurdy (Bradley Central) with 29 as Florida moved their season record to 3-1 with a 92-89 victory over a tough Louisville squad.
Joining McCurdy in the score book were Steadman Ford (Notre Dame) with 23 markers, Walker McGowan (Bradley Central) added 19 and Taylor Hawkins (Sequoyah) finished with 12 points.
Austin Walker (Boyd Buchanan) led five Louisville players in double digits with 28 points. Jay Besley (Brainerd) and Austin Dykes (Cleveland) finished with 17 each while Q.D. Cox (Boyd Buchanan) added 15 and James McRee (Cleveland) finished with 14.
The loss moves Louisville to 2-2 on the season and a date with Vanderbilt this Saturday.
Tennessee 102
Syracuse 71
Austin Harwood (Walker Valley) exploded for 38 points picking up the slack for the absent Antonio Jackson as Tennessee moved to 3-1 on the season setting up a date next Saturday with unbeaten UConn.
Harwood had plenty of company on the scoreboard including Ty Presley (Ooltewah) with 25 and Sam Gregory (Walker Valley) with 20. Damir Hasabegovic (Ooltewah) added 17 in the victory.
Skylar Steinmetz (Oakdale) led Syracuse with 25 points and Ben Snider (Ooltewah) finished with 18. Syracuse drops to 1-3 and welcomes a date with Auburn next Saturday.
UConn 101
Vanderbilt 65
Kendrick Thompson (Cleveland) broke out with 41 markers as Connecticut remained the only unbeaten team in the Rocky Top High School Fall League and smashed Vanderbilt 101-65 in Saturday action at Cleveland High School.
Rokas Paulauskas (Hamilton Heights) continued his steady play adding 24 for the victors. John Hall (Silverdale Academy) scored 14 and Dustin Little (Cleveland) added 12 while Jhony Lomes (Hamilton Heights) finished with 10.
B.J. Wilkerson (Signal Mountain) led Vanderbilt with 18 points. He was assisted in the scoring column by Lannom Sowell (Signal Mountain) with 14, Jahmal Johnson (Cleveland) with 13 and Jeremiah Nason (Boyd Buchanan) with 12.
Vanderbilt closes the regular season with a showdown against 2-2 Louisville on Saturday.
Marquette 90
Auburn 71
Jamaal Calvin (McCallie) kept his stronghold on the scoring lead dropping 30 points as Marquette won their second straight game with a 90-71 victory over Auburn. Marquette now stands at 2-2 and awaits a date with Florida next Saturday.
Max Miller (McMinn Central) added 16 points in the win while Isaiah Beaty (Cleveland) and Anfernee Scott (Cleveland) each scored 12 points in the win.
Levi Woods (Meigs County) and Jemicah Bowman (Tyner Academy) scored 25 and 24 respectively for Auburn. Bradley Whymer (Soddy Daisy) finished with 14 as Auburn fell to 1-3 on the season.
