The Playoff Picture is Clearing Up as Week #3 of the Rocky Top Fall League Goes Live

Week #3 brings on some heavy scoring efforts and starts to print the lines in the sand about who will contend for the championships later in the season.

Team Upchurch 88

Team Garman 84

In a big time shootout, Tristan Upchurch (Maryville) led four players in double digits with 17 lifting Team Upchurch past a hard charging Team Garman group 88-84. Upchurch was joined in the score book by Calvin Keeble (Heritage) with 13, Garrett Anderson (Alcoa) with 12 and Blake Ervin (Heritage) with 10.

The victory negated two very solid scoring performances from Chase Cerny (CAK) and Miles Thomas (South Doyle). The duo scored 29 and 26 respectively but just couldn't get that late bucket to seal the win against the unblemished Team Upchurch squad. Hunter Reynolds (CAK) was superb in his first game back from a toe injury knocking in 15 points.

Team Upchurch (3-0) puts their unbeaten record on the line this Saturday at Knoxville Catholic against Team Morgan (0-3).

Team Garman (1-2) readies for a tussle with fellow Watson Division foe Team Lane (1-2).

Team Steinmetz 74

Team Morton 65

Four players finished in double figures as Team Steinmetz moved to 3-0 on the young season with a 74-65 victory over relentless Team Morton.

Tyler Steinmetz (Oakdale) led the scoring with 18 markers while the steady hand of lead guard Geevontay Gee (Oak Ridge) finished with 15. Maverick Smith (Oakdale) and Thomas Carroll (Wartburg Central) pitched in with 10 points each.

Grant Holt (Anderson County), Tristan Neilson (Hardin Valley) and Markeese Sheeley (Fulton) all scored 12 for Team Morton. Justin Warner (Grainger) added 10 in the tough loss.

Team Steinmetz puts that gaudy 3-0 on display this Saturday at Knoxville Catholic as they battle Team Sharp (1-2) fresh off their first win of the season.

Team Morton (0-3) battles Team Watts (2-1).

Team Sexton 74

Team Morgan 63

Every player on the roster got in the score book as Team Sexton won their second game in a row besting Team Morgan 74-63. Balance was the order as only one player, freshman Kordell Kah (Bearden) scored double digits with 13.

Team Morgan, playing shorthanded, got a solid effort from big man Nathan Hastings (Berean Christian) who scored a game and season high 23 markers. Jake Blaylock (Seymour) chipped in with 16, Justin Barnett (Sevier County) added 14 and Jeremiah Maples (Gatlinburg-Pittman) finished with 10.

Team Sexton (2-1) puts their two game win streak on the line this Saturday at Knoxville Catholic against Team Feltner (2-1).

Team Morgan (0-3) looks to bounce back against Team Upchurch (3-0).

Team Sharp 58

Team Matthews 50

Conley Hamilton (Powell) scored a game high 22 points as Team Sharp notched one in the win column with a 58-50 victory over Team Matthews. Quamire Reed (Knoxville Central) added 10 points in the win.

Bryric Savage (Cookeville) led Team Matthews with 14 followed up by Silas Clark (Cumberland County) with 11 and Tristan Norman (Stone Memorial) with 10.

Team Sharp looks to stay on the proper side of the ledger as they welcome a date with unbeaten Team Steinmetz this Saturday at Knoxville Catholic.

Team Matthews (1-2) looks to bounce back against Team Jones (2-1).

Team Feltner 71

Team Lane 52

Seth Lenard (Sweetwater) scored 15 markers as Team Feltner made a big second half surge besting Team Lane 71-52. Patrick Good (David Crockett) chipped in with 14 while John Fulkerson (North Carolina) added 12.

Newcomer Shaquan Gibson (Oak Ridge) scored a game high 18 for Team Lane. His mates, E.J. Bush (Oak Ridge) and Tajoin Jones (Oak Ridge) pitched in with 12 and 10 respectively.

Team Feltner (2-1) welcomes surging Team Sexton (2-1) this Saturday at Knoxville Catholic while Team Lane (1-2) goes head to head against Team Garman (1-2).

Team Watts 57

Team Jones 54

Team Watts held off a massive rally that saw a 20 point lead disintegrate but held on for the close win 57-54 over previously unbeaten Team Jones.

Luke Smith (Knoxville Catholic) led all scorers with 21 markers. Joining the rising junior in the scoring column were freshman Joe Davis (Fulton) with 14 and Alex Rather (Farragut) with 13.

Kenny Bunton (Walker Valley) led Team Jones with 15 followed by Brad McCurdy (Bradley Central) with 11.

Team Watts (2-1) welcomes Team Morgan (0-3) into the friendly confines of Knoxville Catholic High School this Saturday while Team Jones (2-1) does business with Team Matthews (1-2).
