When the Ivy League makes an inquiry you always need to listen. After a solid early July period, Jack "The Natural" Montague (Brentwood) was entertaining interest from a host of schools including Lipscomb, Belmont, Columbia and others.
The Bulldogs of Yale pulled the trigger and became the first to offer the young man and after some deliberation he will become a member of the Ivy League staple.
Yale is coached by James Jones.
Montague, who ran this session with the Tennessee Contenders, is a quintessential point guard who has a pass first mentality and is very adept at running a team. He has the ability to score off the short jumper and will take his man to the basket for a nice finish or a timely dish to a very happy teammate.
Montague becomes the fourth member of the Class of 2012 to pledge D1.
