Lets just say the past two weeks have been simply Golden for
the 15 and Under Tennessee Tigers.
The final week of "Live Action" saw the Tigers
make the short trip to
and capture Gold at the Eddie Ford Spring Classic.
The Tigers finished unblemished on their way to the title.
Sterling Hewitt
(Pearl Cohn) led the way with 19 in the title game. Brad Allen (Greenbrier) was clutch in the title contest knocking
down several threes and Jordan Long (
with the young Tigers.
Keaton Dotson
(Station Camp), Gabe Reasor (
Cannon Campbell (Rossview) and Matthew Norl (Kenwood) all made major
contributions to the Tigers title run.
Nash Young (Beech) was
lauded for his big buckets during a key pool play victory that moved the Tigers
into the Gold Bracket hunt. Javon Vaughn
(Rossview) was applauded for his defensive efforts throughout the event.
The Tigers moved their winning streak to 10 games as they
parlayed their Bluegrass success into a 15 and under
Long was the big dog scoring 14 including the game winner
with 4 seconds remaining on the game clock. Hewitt added 13 while Dotson and
Allen finished with 11 and 10 respectively.
Ben Bell (
the weekend scoring 20 and 18 in consecutive games for the surging young
Tigers.
Reasor and Campbell continued their steady play while Norl
played his best game since coming back from injury. He led all scorers with 12
in the opener.
Vaughn had arguably his best tourney as well according to
the coaches. His defensive effort created havoc and changed the tempo of the
game several times.
Young had his best weekend as well, dishing out assist and
playing solid on the ball defense. Daylon
Murphy (
was also cited for his improved play and attitude.
