Tennessee State Scoring List Week #10 (Biggest List to Date)

nychsmith.jpg

Here is our weekly list of the top scoring performances in the state, separated by East, Middle and West Tennessee distinction. One of our favorite features as relayed to me by numerous college coaches of all levels.

This is also the forum to announce milestones including 1,000 point scoring efforts and such. Please let me know if we miss any of that information. You can email me at andre@tnprephoops.com.

My intent is to post this list every Monday or Tuesday throughout the season.

Austin Fisher (Clarksville Academy) is poised for a milestone standing just short of the 1,000 point barrier in only his sophomore season. The scoring guard helped pad the stats this past week with a cool 33 point effort against Nashville Christian and followed that performance with a solid 26 against McEwen.

What's in a name? Donte Fitzpatrick (Southwind) or Dorsey as he still referred to my many media outlets is simply a production machine. The Ole Miss signee has Southwind high in the Class AAA state rankings and helped the process with a big week that included a 36 point meltdown against Wooddale and a big 26 spot on district rival Ridgeway.

Don't you love when you see the light go on? Young players striving for a step up the ladder skill wise and production wise seemingly right on the cusp and then you see the light come on. Connor "Big Slim" Arnold (Grace Christian) had such a moment on Saturday for his state ranked Rams. The rising sophomore punched in 26 points on an array of foul line jumpers, drives to the bucket and foul shots on his way to a signature game in his young career.

It hasn't been a signature year for the Spartans of White Station. With a roster dotted with very young players senior guard Nych Smith (White Station) has done his best to keep the machine in gear. The rising senior scorer had a productive week dropping 32 points against Memphis Overton before closing the week strong with 26 in a high scoring affair against Memphis East.

Execution at its best can only describe the Class AAA state ranked Bruins of Brentwood as they defeated their brethren from Brentwood Academy this past week. Sometimes lost in the shuffle but vital to the continued success of the King Express, Jalen Lawson (Brentwood) picked up the scoring slack for the Bruins with a 30 spot in the win.

Josh Jones (Walker Valley) knew he had to step up when fellow 2016 mate and Lipscomb commitment Kenny Bunton (Walker Valley) went down with an injury earlier this season. The junior guard was at his best this past week scoring 28 points against Ooltewah and adding a quick 25 against Soddy Daisy.

Cheyenne Camillo (Hampton) has been a steady shooting force for Hampton his entire career. The senior guard etched his name in school tradition forever passing the coveted 1,000 point barrier for his career. Over in Middle Tennessee, Michael Parks (Fayetteville) also granted his fortunes surpassing the 1,000 point mark for his career with the Tigers.

K.J. Lesure (Centennial) may not be a name that everyone is familiar with, unless you read the scoring list every week. The rising senior guard has become a fixture on the list and was up to his old tricks dropping 34 large on Franklin in a very close loss.

Jordan Self (Cosby) is part of a 1-2 punch that has Coach Brad Flatford smiling and the rest of Region 1A frowning profusely. Self has the Class A state ranked boys from Upper East Tennessee poised for a potential state run and with efforts like his 33 point outburst against Berean Christian that could be a reality.
