Tennessee Prep Hoops Best in State 16U Stats and Stories

College coaches from 14 different schools ascended on Stone Memorial High School for the 3rd annual Best in State last weekend. Here is what came about in the 16 and under division.

 

 

 

 

Team NLP 16U 68 (1-0)

Tennessee Tigers 16U (0-1)

Michael Hampton (Baylor) dropped a game high 23 markers as Team NLP took the opener in the 16 and under division with a hard fought 68-58 win over the Tennessee Tigers.

Gray Michael (Franklin Classical) and Caden Mills (Van Buren County) scored 11 points each and Jaden Lewis (Summit) finished with 10 for the Tigers.

 

EOTO 16U 84 (1-0)

Tennessee Bobcats 80 (0-1)

Bus trouble kept Team Penny from attending the event so filling in for this game the 17 and under Tennessee Bobcats played their underclassmen and what ensued was a quality game and victory for EOTO.

KaJuan Hale (Georgia) scored a game high 23 points as EOTO moved to 1-0 on the day at the 3rd annual Tennessee Prep Hoops Best in State. Tykee Kellog (Alcoa) chipped in with 20 while Jarrell Rosser (Georgia) contributed 12.

 

Club 51 16U 67 (1-0)

Music City Heat Elite 16U 44 (0-1)

Devan Cambridge (PJPII) scored a cool 14 as Club 51 made their Best in State debut with a 67-44 win over the Music City Heat Elite in 16 and under action. Cambridge was a must see in the event turning several heads with his length and outstanding athletic prowess.

Jonathan Howard (Cane Ridge) took game scoring honors with 18 markers. David Smith (Cane Ridge) added 14 points in the loss.

 

Team NLP 16U 68 (2-0)

Music City Heat Elite 16U 43 (0-2)

Michael Hampton (Baylor) led the NLP cause with 13 markers as Team NLP moved to 2-0 on the day with a 68-43 win over the Music City Heat Elite in Best in State action. Joining Hampton on the score sheets, Dionte Ware (Cleveland) and Jason Jitobah (Hamilton Heights) with 10 points each.

Jonathan Howard (Cane Ridge) led all scorers with 16 markers for Music City.

 

EOTO 16U 68 (2-0)

Tennessee Tigers 16U 56 (0-2)

Silas Clark (Cumberland County) blistered the nets for a game high 24 points as EOTO moved to 2-0 with a 68-56 win over the Tennessee Tigers in 16 and under action at the 3rd annual Tennessee Prep Hoops Best in State.

Mehki Carter (Alcoa) chipped in with 17 in the win for EOTO.

Jacoyah Webster (Columbia Central) led the Tigers with 12 points while Jaden Lewis (Summit) chipped in with 10 markers.

 

Team NLP 16U 73 (3-0)

Club 51 16U 59 (1-1)

K.K. Curry (Cleveland) brought his A game dropping 18 points as Team NLP concluded their day 3-0 with a 73-59 triumph over Club 51. Jessie Walker (Brainerd) also played his best game of the tournament with 17 markers while Class of 2019 riser Dionte Ware (Cleveland) added 10.

Devan Cambridge (PJPII) and Desmond Washington (Cane Ridge) scored 13 and 12 respectively for Club 51.

 

EOTO 16U 76 (3-0)

Club 51 16U 65 (1-2)

Four players finished in double digits as EOTO concluded the 3rd annual Tennessee Prep Hoops Best in State with a 3-0 record besting Club 51 76-65. KaJuan Hale (Georgia) led the scoring with 13 followed closely by Tykee Kellog (Alcoa) and Jarred Rosser (Georgia) with 12 and Silas Clark (Cumberland County) with 10.

Devan Cambridge (PJPII) led all scorers with 21 points for Club 51. Desmond Washington (Cane Ridge) scored 15 and George Greer (Ravenwood) added 13 in the tough loss.

 

Tennessee Tigers 16U 64 (1-2)

Music City Heat Elite 16U 52 (0-3)

Jaden Lewis (Summit) was the lone double digit scorer with 10 as the Tennessee Tigers got past the Music City Heat Elite 64-52 in the final game of the 16 and under division at the 3rd annual Tennessee Prep Hoops Best in State event at Stone Memorial.

Jonathan Howard (Cane Ridge) concluded a fine week scoring 13 points followed closely by Jeremiah Barr (Independence) and David Smith (Cane Ridge) with 11 points each.
