The annual Marshall County Hoopfest is a hoops junkies dream. Four of the nations top 25 teams according to USA Today will be in action over the course of the three day event.
The pre-season #1 squad Oak Hill Academy will be in action; as well as, #17 Chicago Simeon, #19 Chicago Whitney Young, #23 Marietta Wheeler and UHA featuring consensus Top 20 player Scotty Hopson.
On Thursday Shelbyville takes to the court to tangle with Carbondale (Ill.) The Golden Eagles are led by sophomore sensation Emmanuel Andrews. Andrews has been on a scoring tear as of late and will seek the help of his fellow Eagles Julian Haile, Tory Robertson and Michael France to snatch victory in the Bluegrass state.
On Friday Braircrest Christian takes the court to do battle with Kentucky power Paducah Tilghman. Leading the B.C. will be Class of 2009 top dog Leslie McDonald and his equally appealing classmates Johnnie Williams and Gregg Wooten. Briarcrest will need a aolid effort from this trio; as well as, senior Elgin Lee.
The final day of action gives us the Spartans of White Station and that means "The Real Thing" sophomore Joe Jackson. The Station will tangle with Illinois staple Pinckneyville. The news is out on Jackson so fellow Spartans must rise that means great efforts from Marquette Murrell, Andre Hollins and Marvin Williams.
