Tennessee 3, Kentucky 1…….White Station, Central and East Bring Home Victories

Things started slow but quickly mushroomed into a big time at the Minit Mart Tennessee vs. Kentucky showdown.

 

Marshall County had the misfortune of being paired with arguably the top team in the state of Kentucky, Christian County and the winners of 30 games last season got past the Tigers to put the tally at Kentucky 1, Tennessee 0.

 

Kedren Johnson (Marshall County) led with 20 points and sophomore Kevin Peterson (Marshall County) added 12 points.

 

White Station 71

Clark County (KY) 46

 

Andre Hollins (White Station) went crazy in the evening's second contest scoring 39 points and leading The Station past Clark County (KY.) 71-46, at one point late in the fourth quarter the Minnesota signee was outscoring the entire opposition 37 to 35.

 

Marvin Williams (White Station) added 12 points for the Spartans in the win.

 

Memphis Central 52

Warren Central (KY) 44

Josh Jones (Memphis Central) scored 18 points knocking down 4 threes and capturing the game MVP honors as Memphis Central outlasted the home team Warren Central (KY) 52-44.

 

Andre Applewhite (Memphis Central) added 12 in the victory while Jarnell Stokes (Memphis Central) added 10.

 

Blake Johnson (Memphis Central) nailed two free throws late in the contest to give Central the final margin.

 

Memphis East 60

Bowling Green (KY) 56

The Mustangs overcame a furious Bowling Green comeback before back to back driving lay-ups by junior Earvin Morris (Memphis East) led to the final margin and a 60-56 victory for East.

 

Morris and sophomore shooting guard Matthew Butler (Memphis East) finished with 16 points each.

 

Alex "The Great" Anderson (Memphis East) played outstanding stuffing the stat sheet with 9 points and a dozen assists; as well as, playing great defense and disrupting the Bowling Green half court offense.

 

Sophomore Nick King (Memphis East) also added 9 points in the tough victory.
