More action from this past weekend saw one of the best 16 and under squads in the country, Team Thad take the crown at the Southeast Elite Exposure Showcase in Atlanta.
Incidentally Team Thad was playing up and captured the 17 and under crown behind a monster effort from Leron Black (White Station). Black has begun to establish himself as one of the best in the Class of 2014 nationally as he picked up offers this past weekend from Georgetown, Georgia Tech and many more.
Black made his presence felt but the guard play of Team Thad is what sets them apart. C.J. Anderson (Arlington), Chris Chiozza (Bartlett) and Anton Beard (Arkansas) are a trio that can be tough to handle when they are all at their best.
Anderson picked up some SEC offers for his sterling play and Chiozza is a diamond in the rough for someone who likes a winner who plays with a chip on their shoulder.
Inside Team Thad got solid effort from Marcainius Hymon (Whitehaven), LaDarius Coleman (Craigmont), Mark Partee (Mississippi) and Jaquarius Parnell (Raleigh-Egypt).
Thus far in the young season, Team Thad sits at 18-0 and is making a case for their inclusion among the best 16 and under squads in the country.
In the 15 and under division, Team Thad struck gold as well bringing home the ‘ship behind some outstanding efforts from Marlon Hunter (Melrose), Donte Fitzpatrick (Memphis East), Terrence Davis (Mississippi) and Malik Smith (Memphis Overton).
Out in Dallas Texas, Team Thad 17 and under squad finished a respectable 3-1 at the Next Level Ballers Tournament with their lone blemish coming at the hands of the eventual tourney champion.
Jonathan Starks (Brighton) was sighted for his outstanding efforts on both ends of the floor including averaging a double/double with points and assists.
Team Thad also got some solid efforts from the likes of Moses Harper (Brighton), Mike Matlock (Memphis Overton), Aston Morton (Ridgeway) and Tim Sanders (Germantown).
