Team Penny Closes Strong at EYBL Session #1

The Nike EYBL got off to a rousing start with Session #1 in
sunny California, Los Angeles to be exact.


 


Team Penny or the Bluff City Legends which ever you prefer
started slow but came on strong finishing with a mark of 2-2.


 


Team Penny lost their opening contest 62-60 in tough fashion
despite 18 points from Keelon Lawson (Hamilton). Fellow
Class of 2015 school mate Skal
Labiessiere (ECS)
finished with 10 for the Bluff City
crew.


 


CIA Bounce from Canada is always a tough nut to
crack as Team Penny would find out with a 77-64 loss to the Maple Leaf crew.
Lawson led the scoring with a weekend team high of 19 followed by Labiessiere
with 13 and recent Arkansas commit Anton Beard (Arkansas) and Davell Roby (White Station) chipping
in with 12 each.


 


Bluff
City
finally go the ship
righted as the taught the lesson to E1T1 60-53 behind 13 from Beard. Lawson
added 12 while Labiessiere and Roby finished with 11 and 10 respectively.


 


The Mac Irvin Fire got flamed out as Team Penny cruised away
with a 66-52 victory behind 15 and 11 from Labiessiere. Beard also managed 15
markers and Lawson finished with 11.


 


Rob Marberry (FRA) helped
Travelers Basketball finish with a record of 2-2 as well. Marberry had his best
effort with a 10 point and 9 rebound stat line in a win over the Jackson
Tigers. Marberry also finished with 8 points and 6 boards against CP3 in a
close loss.


 


Andrew Fleming
(Ensworth)
playing with the St. Louis Eagles had his best effort of the
weekend with a 13 point effort against Mokan Elite.


 


Jalen
Lindsey (CPA)
playing with Southern Stampede, scored 13 points
against Wisconsin Playground Elite and added a big 16 point effort against Team
Texas Elite
