What an outstanding final day at the Rocky Top Fall League Championship this past Sunday at Maryville College. The games were hard fought and the championship game was an epic encounter from the two best teams in the league.
Lets see what happened as we bring the Fall League to a close. I want to thank everyone the players, the coaches the parents, the sponsors and everyone who helped make this Fall League one of the best we have ever had.

Team Driscoll 86
Team Holt 83
Dakota McGowan (Bearden) and Will Snyder (Bearden) drained late foul shots as Team Driscoll captured their first win of the season besting Team Holt 86-83 in the opener at Maryville College.
Determination was the key as Team Driscoll (1-5) placed five players in double digits led by Ty Chandler (Bearden) with a game high 26 points.
Snyder chipped in with 20 followed by Luke Smith (Knoxville Catholic) and Chase Ridenour (Home School) with 13 each. McGowan finished with 10.
Lucas Campbell (CAK) played his best game of the season notching 20 points for Team Holt.
Tyler Durden (Hardin Valley) also finished with 20 while Stanley Valentine (Hampton) added 19.
Chase Cerny (CAK) added 10 in the loss for Team Holt (1-5).
6th Place Game MVP: Ty Chandler (Bearden)
Team Coffin 59
Team Garman 58
Braxton Moore (Knoxville Halls) converted a twisting lay-up at the buzzer as Team Coffin slid past Team Garman in the 5th place encounter.
Team Coffin got off to a strong start behind the deep shooting of Blaine Shockley (Hardin Valley), who finished with a team high 17 markers on the day.
Team Garman used the marksmanship of rising senior guard Brady Nease (Union County) to bring the game back in their favor before the teams traded buckets down the stretch.
Nease finished with a game high 23 points for Team Garman who finished the season at 2-4. Yosmond Fenderson (Fulton) added 14 for Team Garman in the loss.
5th Place Game MVP: Braxton Moore (Knoxville Halls)
Team Steinmetz 84
Team Sharp 66
Jacob Cawood (Midway) closed out his Fall League career scoring 24 points and offsetting a super shooting display from Dalton Price (Maryville) by lifting Team Steinmetz (3-3) to an 84-66 victory in the 4th place contest of the Rocky Top Fall League at Maryville College.
Cawood was far from the only contributor as four others notched double digits led by Tyler Steinmetz (Oakdale) with 18, John Johnson (Harriman) with 15, Tajoin Jones (Oak Ridge) with 12 and Maverick Smith (Oakdale) with 10.
Price, who nailed 9 threes on the day finished with a game high 33 points in the loss for Team Sharp (2-4). Kenaan Berger (Heritage) had another fine effort scoring 18 points in the loss.
4th Place Game MVP: Jacob Cawood (Midway)
Team Matthews 79
Team Watts 70
Diego Poore (Cumberland County) proved to be the catalyst as Team Matthews overcame a furious Team Watts comeback to capture the victory in the 3rd place contest to the tune of 79-70 at the Rocky Top Fall League.
Poore finished with 20 points but was instrumental in keeping Team Matthews (4-2) in the lead especially during crunch time down the stretch. Brandon Thomas (Stone Memorial) led Team Matthews in scoring with 21 points.
Hunter Crouch (Clarkrange) finished with 11 and Colton Blevins (York Institute) added 10 and several crowd pleasing slams and blocks.
Drew Fugate (Gatlinburg-Pittman) concluded a fine Fall League season with a team high 21 markers for Team Watts (2-4).
Danny Bates (Jefferson County) chipped in with 17 and Ryan Beal (Pigeon Forge) added 16 in the loss.
3rd Place Game MVP: Diego Poore (Cumberland County)
Team Feltner 64
Team Jeffers 60
Bailey Lamb (Grainger) picked up the scoring slack as Team Feltner held on for a hard fought 64-60 win over a determined Team Jeffers (4-2).
Lamb finished with a team high 17 and concluded a very successful and solid Fall league campaign. Harper Feltner (Jefferson County) added 13 while John Bryant (Jefferson County) and Corey Bates (Grainger) chipped in with 12 each.
Geevontay Gee (Oak Ridge) did all he could do to lift Team Jeffers to the victory but came up just short. The rising junior finished with 18 markers in the tough loss. Trey Bingham (Anderson County) finished with 10 in the loss.

Team Lawhon 78
Team Upchurch 77
In what became an epic encounter between the top two teams in the league, Team Lawhon got a game high 28 points from Dylan Brewster (Lenoir City) and held on for dear life as Kelvin Jacksons' (Carter) shot from the corner rimmed off to capture a 78-77 win and bring home the championship for the Rocky Top High School Fall League at Maryville College.
For his efforts Brewster was named as the league's MVP. The All-League teams will be posted on Thursday.
Brewster was hot from the start and continuously made big buckets when it appeared Team Upchurch (5-1) was making up ground.
Zy Moore (Meigs County) had another fine game as the rising sophomore guard finished with 20 points on the day.
Matthew Meadows (Meigs County) was gigantic in the win for Team Lawhon (5-1), the rising junior finished with 12 boards but controlled the glass, especially on the defensive end to finish with a double/double in the title game.
Easton Upchurch (Maryville) led Team Upchurch with 20 markers. Miles Thomas (South Doyle) and Jackson ended with 11 each.
