Team Corey Brewer (CB) finally put all the pieces together in their third event and captured the crown in the 15 and under division at the Norman Parker Georgia Stars Showcase in Georgia.
After a tough showing at the Real Deal, Team CB played their best game in the pool play finale and a spark was lit in the minds of these youngsters that if they played together they could make some noise.
Jacob Williams (Wilson Central) continues to impress with his skills and led the team in scoring throughout the weekend.
Ryan Jones (Siegel) has been a consistent scorer and Dominique Gooch (Siegel) played his best tournament of the summer thus far.
Derrick Spears (MTCS) was also lauded for his steady contributions.
The Tennessee Chosen Few (TCF) also came to play finishing a respectable third with solid efforts from a four-pack of players including Zak Carter (Hardin Valley), Imani Miller (Austin East), Penny Smith (Fulton) and Justin Simmons (Stone Memorial).
Over in the 16 and under division, Tennessee Chosen Few finished at 3-2 and continue to improve as a squad.
Brandon Walters (Howard) showed marked improvement blocking shots at a 3 per game clip and had scoring efforts of 15 and 14 points respectively.
Menes Bailey (Austin East) continues his outstanding summer with another good tourney.
Out front the guard duo of Will Adams (Science Hill) and Dejon McGill (Austin East) played very well. Adams controlled the tempo in every setting and McGill was strong including a 20 point effort against the Georgia Stars.
