Sub-State/Sectional Scoring List

Here is our weekly list of the top scoring performances in the state, separated by East, Middle and West Tennessee distinction. One of our favorite features as relayed to me by numerous college coaches of all levels.

This is also the forum to announce milestones including 1,000 point scoring efforts and such. Please let me know if we miss any of that information. You can email me at andre@tnprephoops.com.

My intent is to post this list every Monday or Tuesday throughout the season.

This list will contain scoring efforts from the sub-state/sectional game concluded on Tuesday.

Ryan Montgomery (Chattanooga Central) made certain the Purple Pounders had their at state. The junior guard notched 25 points in the sub-state victory over Livingston Academy.

If you key on my other guys I will score, so says Coby Jones (Hampton). Jones was big as Hampton advances to the state tournament with a big win over last seasons runner-up in Class A, Meigs County, to the tune of 32 points.

Jordon Varnado (Haywood) was not to be denied. The rising senior wing/post was huge notching 23 markers as Haywood bested defending Class AA state champion Jackson Southside. The Mr. Basketball finalist finished with 23 markers in the win.

Jordan Bowden (Carter) must have had some revenge on his mind as the rising senior scoring machine dropped 33 points as Carter advanced to their second straight state tournament berth with a win over Greeneville. Yes the same Greenville that knocked the Hornets out of the running last season.

Jalen Lawson (Brentwood) picked up the scoring slack for the Bruins with 24 points as Brentwood makes it's thrid consecutive trip back to the Murphy Center with a victory over Station Camp.

Isaac Edmondson (Creek Wood) would not the Red Hawks be denied. The rising senior wing dropped 27 points as Creek Wood dispatches Pearl Cohn to advance to the state tournament this coming week in the 'boro.
