Southwind Advances to the Title Game…Semi-Final Results Ahead

left no doubt about his intentions for the Jaguars of
Southwind....the final objective bring home the gold ball.


 


The Marquette signee dropped
18 points helping lead Southwind to a 54-32 win over surging Brentwood and
earning the Jaguars a Saturday afternoon date with fellow West Tennessee representative
Dyer County for the Class AAA state title.


 


Johnson was not the only Jaguar in the scoring column as Missouri signee Johnathan Williams (Southwind) added 17
and fellow senior Dre'Sean Looney
(Southwind)
pitched in with 11 markers.


 


Jack Bautista
(Brentwood) and Andy Schumpert (Brentwood)
led
the Bruins with 10 points.


 


 


Dyer County 77


Siegel 70


 


Robert Hubbs (Dyer County)
scored a game high 29 points as the Choctaws advanced to the state
championship game against Southwind with a 77-70 victory over the Stars of
Siegel.


 


Lamarcus Mosley (Dyer County)
added 12 to the Dyer
County
cause.


 


Damien Clark (Siegel)
led the Stars with 19 points followed closely by junior guard Ryan Jones (Siegel) with 13 points.


 


 


Lake County 52


Richland 51


 


Lake County overcame a late Richland charge surviving with a 52-51
victory to advance to the Class A state championship game against district
rival Humboldt on Saturday afternoon.


 


Zay Coleman (Lake County)
led the winners with 22 points while senior forward Devon Jones (Lake
County
)
added 11 in
the victory.


 


Bret Boatright (Richland) and Cody Jordan (Richland)
scored 17 and 15 points respectively for Richland.


 


 


Humboldt 64


Wartburg Central 58


 


Stephon Turner
(Humboldt)
scored 26 points and Desonta
Bradford (Humboldt)
added 20 as Humboldt moved into the Class A title game
against Lake County with a hard fought 64-58 win over
Wartburg Central.


 


The Humboldt win overshadowed the effort of Mr. Basketball
finalist Alex Fountain (Wartburg
Central)
who finished with a tournament high 33 points in the loss.


 


 


CPA 63


Livingston Academy 48


 


Jalen Lindsey (CPA) scored
26 points and snatched 16 boards helping the Lions move into the Class AA state
title game against Jackson Southside with a 63-48 semi-final victory over Livingston Academy.


 


"Hog-Eye" was led by seniors Brock McCoin (Livingston Academy) and Mason Ramsey (Livingston Academy)
with 22 and 16 points respectively.

scored 18 and A.J.
Merriweather (Jackson Southside)
added 17 as the Hawks rallied in the
fourth quarter to take the victory over Howard 67-53. Southside will meet CPA
in the Class AA state championship game on Saturday.

added 12 in the win.


 


Xavier Harris
(Howard)
led the Hustlin Tigers with 18 points and 10 boards. Brandon Walters (Howard) added 11
points and 7 blocks for Howard.
