South edges North 88-82 in Golden Circle Classic…Fason Named MVP

Hard to believe it's over.

For so many high school seniors the last bastion of prep hardwood action came in the form of the Golden Circle Classic All-Star Game at Liberty Tech High School this past Saturday evening.

The South team edged the North squad 88-82 with Jeremy Fason (JCM) earning MVP honors with 14 points.

Leading the scoring for the winning South squad Jammie Cheairs (Middleton) who dropped 17 and Jeremy Rhodes (Bolivar Central) added 16. Rhodes will take his talents to NW Shoals CC in Alabama next season.

Other South hoopers in double digits beside Fason include Jackson State CC commit Kenny Greer (Haywood County) and high school teammate and Chattanooga signee Ricky "The Truth" Taylor (Haywood County) with 13 and 10 respectively.

Leading the way for the North squad Southwest Tennessee commitment Victor McLin (Dyersburg) finished with 17. His game drew praise from many onlookers as he readies himself for battle on the next level. Justin Blake (Dyer County) , an Austin Peay signee, added 13.
