Smith is Exceptional at Week #3 of the H3 Sports Rocky Top Fall League

The action was tight with several very close encounters, some remain unbeaten, some took their first loss so will be looking to bounce back. Week #3 here we go.

Team Upchurch 83

Justin Barnett (Sevier County) dropped 20 as Team Carnes garnered their first win of the season with a strong 87-83 win over Team Upchurch at Week #3 of the H3 Sports Rocky Top High School Fall League.

Barnett was flanked by rising sophomore Arol Kacoul (Knoxville Christian) and Marco Zaro (Knoxville Christian) with 18 points each. Rising freshman shooting sensation Micah Wilkinson (Pigeon Forge) and Dalton Muse (Sevier County) chipped in with 10 each for the victors.

Calvin Keeble (Heritage) led all scorers with 26 for Team Upchurch. Jonathan Webb (Alcoa) added 17 while Brandon Davis (Heritage) and Jacob Giles (Maryville) added 13 and 12 points respectively.

Team Carnes (1-2) takes the momentum into this Sundays clashes at lovely CAK as they do battle with upstart Team Arnold (1-2) while Team Upchurch (0-3) is ready for their first victory of the season against a tough and battle tested Team O'Hara (2-1).

 

Team Coward 76

Team Steinmetz 68

Trent Stephany (Bearden) played his best game to date dangling 28 markers as Team Coward remained unbeaten at 3-0 with a narrow 76-68 win over Team Steinmetz at the H3 Sports Rocky Top Fall League.

Shamarcus Brown (Bearden) dropped 12 and Hunter Huff (Hardin Valley) added 10 in the win.

Tyshawn Young (Oak Ridge) led Team Steinmetz with 13 points followed closely by Thomas Carroll (Wartburg Central) and Maverick Smith (Oakdale) with 10 points each.

Team Coward (3-0) puts that gaudy 3-0 mark on the line this Sunday at CAK against an opportunistic Team Watts (2-1) squad. Team Steinmetz (0-3) has been in every game and things don't get easier as they welcome Team Lane (3-0).

 

Team Sharp 64

Team O'Hara 53

Kordell Kah (Bearden) scored 18 points as Team Sharp moved to 3-0 taking over sole possession of first place in the Stokes Division with a 65-53 win over previously unbeaten Team O'Hara.

Ques Glover (Bearden) pitched in with 15 while Bryson Newman (Knoxville Halls) played solid all day finishing with 10 points.

Chase Ridenour (Knoxville Webb) led his squad in scoring with 17 points.

Team Sharp (3-0) puts that perfect record on the line this Sunday at CAK against an always tough Team Feltner (2-1). Team O'Hara (2-1) looks to bounce back into the winners column as they tangle with Team Upchurch (0-3).

 

Team Lane 72

Team Matthews 67

Shaquan Gibson (Oak Ridge) dropped 20 points keeping Team Lane unblemished on the season with a 72-67 win over a determined Team Matthews. Kurry Cody (Cosby) had his best game of the season scoring 15 points while Barron Nease (Union County) added 13 and E.J. Bush (Oak Ridge) finished with 12.

Josh Dykes (Cumberland County) led his squad with 18. Dante Harris (Alcoa) continues his sterling play with 15 markers while fellow rising freshman Nick Roberts (Alcoa) adds 10.

Team Lane (3-0) looks to keep the dream alive as the battle the underdog Team Steinmetz on Sunday at CAK. Team Matthews (1-2) looks to get back in the win column against fellow McRae Division foe Team Morton (0-3).

 

Team Arnold 86

Team Feltner 79

Quincy Sibley (Karns) and K.J. Hawkins (Karns) scored 22 and 20 points as Team Arnold captured their first win of the season with a thrilling 86-79 win over previously unbeaten Team Feltner.

Connor Arnold (Grace Christian) chipped in with 17 points while Isaiah Keeter (Karns) added 13 and Matt Samples (Powell) pitched in with 11.

Cameron Gregg (Jefferson County) led all scorers with 24 in the loss. Hunter Reynolds (CAK) chipped in with 18 while rising freshman Emory Lanier (Knoxville Webb) added 11.

Team Arnold (1-2) looks to ride the momentum train and battles another upstart in Team Carnes (1-2). Team Feltner (2-1) takes on the Stokes Division leader Team Sharp (3-0) this Sunday at CAK.

Team Morton 63

Luke Smith (Knoxville Catholic) and Nick Rogers (Farragut) scored 28 and 24 respectively as Team Watts held off a furious charge to edge an improving Team Morton 67-63.

Team Morton placed five players in double digits led by Nate Jackson (Science Hill) with 17. Tate Wheeler (Dobyns-Bennett) chipped in with 13, while a trio including Bowden Lyon (Science Hill), Trevor Hensley (Unicoi County) and Mason Shelton (Dobyns-Bennett) each added 10.

Team Watts (2-1) puts a two game win streak on the line against unbeaten Team Coward (3-0) for a shot at Division supremacy while Team Morton (0-3) looks to break into the win column against Team Matthews (1-2).
