With all the hoops taking place in early April we got a bit behind with our commitment for the senior class that just finished up this season, let's see where some of our guys will be playing their college hoops next season.

Matt Shown (Alcoa) parlayed a solid senior campaign into a ride down I40 to Greeneville. The 6'7 big man will spend the next four seasons at Tusculum College. The Pioneers are a proud member of the South Atlantic Conference and are coached by second year mentor Mike Jones. Shown will be joined by fellow Knoxville hoopster Anthony Lewis (Knoxville Carter) on the Pioneers roster next season. Tusculum is a member of the NCAA Division II.

The junior colleges had a field day as the other levels close down business for the summer. The Tennessee Junior College Athletic Association (TJCAA) loaded up with players from the Volunteer state.

Roane State welcomes a pair of guards into the program as Cleveland Davidson (Rockwood) and DeQuan Wright (Bearden) join Coach Randy Nesbit's program for the next couple of seasons.

Venerable mentor Bill Carlyle brings one down from Middle Tennessee as Jarvis Webster (Columbia Central) will suit up for the Senators next season.

Cleveland State head man Lee Cigliano welcomes Chattanooga native Trey Suttles (Tyner Academy) into the Cougars program.

Coach Jay Price was a busy man on the recruiting circuit these past few weeks inking a slew of incoming freshman including Billy Hughes (Hunter's Lane), Demetrius Kitchens (Brainerd), Caymon Dial (LaVergne) and Devin Robinson (Ravenwood).

Up on the mountain, the University of the South, Sewanee Tigers bring a couple of outstanding young shooters into the fray with the signing of Leo Born (Baylor) and Will Downey (Ensworth). Coach Bubba Smith welcomes the shooters as his Tigers surged to a 13-13 finish in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference of DIII.

Garrett Mullinicks (McEwen) had a fantastic senior season and for his reward the 5'8 scoring machine will take his talents to NAIA powerhouse Faulkner University. The Eagles are coached by Jim Sanderson and play in the always tough Southern States Athletic Conference.
