For the schools in the NAIA, DIII and Junior College levels of college hoops the recruiting process is a completely different animal.

Patience is a virtue as the institutions are basically forced to wait and see what shakes out from the action going on at the levels that are considered "above" them.

Waiting for a test score, waiting for reality to set in as players realize their D1 aspirations were just that. Aspirations.

The Scots of Maryville College continue to be one of the top D3 programs in the Southeast.

Venerable Coach Randy Lambert continues to bring in quality players and the machine just keeps on moving on.

The Scots welcome a foursome of future contributors into the fold led by Drew Pentacost (Beech). A back to the basket post, Pentacost comes from a very good high school program and his ability to take coaching will make him available for playing time the minute he steps on campus.

More frontcourt help is coming to Blount County as Sam Gregory (Bradley Central) settles into the Scots fold. Gregory is a 6'6 active big player who's best basketball is clearly in his future.

Backcourt help is also on the way as the Scots inked two players to help them in that area.

Ryan Henry (Knoxville Catholic) is a tough hard-nosed kid who loves to compete and will be a favorite of the staff.

Scoring will come in the form of Calvin Songster (Science Hill). a knock-down shooter, Songster will compete for minutes on the wing immediately.

The Scots are a charter member of the USA South Conference of NCAA D3.
