The Scots of Maryville College are simply one of the best college programs in the entire state of Tennessee.
Coach Randy Lambert has led his team to 10 straight NCAA D3 tournament appearances and several Great South Athletic Conference crowns.
The Scots have been kind to the Knoxville area recruiting several players who have had great success at the Maryville campus.
So it comes as no surprise when the Scots announced they added three more recruits to the four they signed last week for one of the best classes the school has ever seen.
Justin Davenport (Cannon County), Hunter Daniels (Rhea County) and Zach Stinnett (Maryville) join a class that consisted of Joey Boedwig (Knoxville Catholic), Phillips Stephens (Knoxville Catholic), Spencer Peake (Bearden) and Cory Conard (Cosby).
Davenport led his squad to the sub-state and became one of the most exciting shooters in the state. He will love the Scots emphasis on the long ball.
Daniels joins a big front line and will benefit from the post improvement that seems to befit all the young Scots incoming insiders. He is a hard worker who likes contact and has a bright future.
Stinnett is a local player who has range and plays with a very high basketball IQ.
The Scots finished the season at 23-5 losing in the first round of the national tournament.
In other D3 news, Lagrange College also from the Great South Athletic Conference has inked Nick Ellis (Notre Dame).
Ellis is a good outside shooter who can play either guard spot and will be a welcome addition for Coach Warren Haynes and his future Panthers teammates.
Ellis helped lead Notre Dame to the district 7AA crown this past season.
