Scoring Milestones Highlight Week #11 Scoring List

andrewilson.jpg

Once again I have scoured the newspapers, faxes, twitters and other forms of media that come to my attention compiling a list of the top scorers in the state for each week of the season.

If you know of some scoring exploits or a scoring milestone such as 1,000 point club or something of that nature please email me at andre@tnprephoops.com and I will get this added to the next week’s story.

If you know of someone who scored over 25 points and they did not make the list please let me know and I will add them to the following weeks list.

College coaches have told me this is one of their favorite features as it helps them get an understanding on the pulse of the new season.

The final regular season before the district playoffs get underway was intense as teams pushed for seeding. In DII district games were underway and are included in this report.

Cole West (Oneida) etched his carvings in Oneida hoops history forever surpassing the coveted 2,000 point barrier this past week. West has signed to play football at ETSU next season.

Terry Holt (East Nashville) became the all-time leading scorer at East Nashville High School formerly known as East Literature HS. Holt stands at 1,414 points with the district tournament and a top seed looming this week.

Issac Merian (Oak Ridge) and Jalin Henderson (Oak Ridge) both achieved scoring milestones this past week. Merian, who will attend Lee University in the fall, slid past the 1,000 point barrier for the Wildcats and is closing in on the top 10. Henderson, who will attend Wallace State Community College in Alabama, put his name in the record books also surpassing the 1,000 point barrier as a Wildcat.

Zeke Clark (Elizabethon) closed a tough week scoring 30 markers against Cosby and for his efforts the senior shooting guard slid past the 1,000 point barrier for his career as a Cyclone.

Ethan Rice (Unicoi County) left his impression on Blue Devil basketball this pas week as the rising senior guard shot past the 1,000 point mark for his career.

Birdman McKamey (Clinton) placed his hoops legend in Dragon history forever this past week as the senior guard pushed past the coveted 1,000 point barrier for his career.

Zak Carter (Hardin Valley) had a very productive week. The rising senior scorer scored 104 points in four games including a 37 point effort against Heritage and helped lead the Hawks to their first ever district top seed. Hardin Valley finished in a three way tie with Maryville and Bearden.

Jacob Saunders (Cheatham County) continues to pile up the points for the unbeaten Cubs of Cheatham County. The senior guard dangled 26 points in a win over Sycamore then exploded for 37 in another victory over White House-Heritage.

Bailey Lamb (Grainger) has been pouring in points all season. Omitted from the previous weeks because we didn't know of his exploits it is now time to catch him up to everyone. The junior guard poured in 33 points against Cumberland Gap in Week #8 and was phenomenal in Week #9 scoring 25 on Cumberland Gap and 32 on Cherokee. Week # 10 saw Mr. Lamb put 28 on Claiborne then this past week he had 28 on state ranked McMinn Central.
