Schmidt Goes Off at Knoxville Rocky Top High School Fall League

 

Week #4 of the Rocky Top Fall League saw someone clinch their division while others fight for a higher seed on championship day at Maryville College on October 6th.   

 

Team Smith 84

Team Smith 50

Andre Wilson (Austin East) led four teammates in double digits with 22 points as Team Smith moved their season record to 2-2 with an easy 84-50 win over Team Wannamaker.

Imani Miller (Austin East) added 19 and fellow Roadrunner DeJon McGill (Austin East) finished with 12. Jack Rase (Powell) had a superb game for the victors finishing with 14 markers of his own.

Blake Golden (Fulton) led Team Wannamaker, who fell to 1-3, with 13 points on the day. Trey Stewart (Grace Christian) finished with 11 in the loss.

Team Smith (2-2) goes to battle this Saturday at Knoxville Catholic against a surging Team Jackson. Team Wannamaker (1-3) welcomes unblemished Team Moore (4-0) into the fold.

 

Team Watts 77

Team Lee 73

Sam Greene (Bearden) continued his torrid scoring pace scoring 30 points as Team Watts won for the second week in a row evening their record at 2-2 with a hard fought 77-73 win over Team Lee. Gage Spence (Stone Memorial) added 10 in the win.

Rising sophomore Justin Jenkins (Knoxville Webb) made his presence felt with 23 points for Team Lee, who fell to 1-3. Joining Jenkins in the scoring column were Jack Graham (Bearden) and Brady Smith (Bearden) with 17 and 16 respectively.

Team Watts puts their two game win streak on the line this Saturday at Knoxville Catholic against Team Riddick while Team Lee looks to turn things around against Team Driscoll.

 

Team Jackson 70

Team Dorsey 68

Jalin Henderson (Oak Ridge) scored 14 points as Team Jackson notched their first win of the season with a narrow 70-68 victory over Team Dorsey. The effort offset an outstanding performance by rising senior Devin Schmidt (Sevier County) who posted a season high 32 markers in the loss.

Henderson was joined in the scoring column by Jordan Huddleston (Kingston) with 13 and Jalen Carter (Hardin Valley) with 11 points.

Team Jackson puts their new found success on the line against Team Smith (2-2) on Saturday while Team Dorsey (2-2) plays cross division foe Team Matthews.

Team Riddick 44

Brock "The Assassin" Rowan (Stone Memorial) scored 26 points and Team Matthews raised their season mark to 3-1 with a sound 57-44 win over Team Riddick on Saturday at Knoxville Catholic High School. The Assassin was deadly hitting eight threes along the way.

Alex Fountain (Wartburg Central) chipped in with 12 in the win.

Brian Landers (Maryville) led Team Riddick (2-2) with 19 points. Isaac Edmiston (Maryville) added 10 points in the loss.

Team Matthews (3-1) will play cross division foe Team Dorsey on Saturday while Team Riddick looks to rebound against a hot Team Watts squad.

 

Team Moore 50

Team Driscoll 38

Devin Sibley (Karns) and Stetson Moore (Knoxville Halls) provided the necessary one-two punch as Team Moore remained unbeaten on the season and clinched the Bradshaw Division championship with a 50-38 win over Team Driscoll.

Sibley finished with 17 while Moore added 13 in the win.

Micah Goss (Fulton) and Yosmond Fenderson (Knoxville West) each scored 16 in the loss.

Team Moore puts their gaudy record up this week against Team Wannamaker while Team Driscoll wrestles with Team Lee.
