Sanderson Makes it Rain in Kentucky

Carter Sanderson (Lipscomb) dropped 18 points and the Tennessee Tigers finished pool play unbeaten with a 51-26 snowplowing of the Minnesota Select.

Sanderson took advantage of a unconventional zone to dangle four three-pointers through the twine.

Blake Bell (Lipscomb) got in on the scoring brigade with 8 points matching David "X-Man" Sanders (MLK), who also finished with 8 points. Sanders and Michael Bradley (Tyner Academy) each grabbed 8 boards in the win.

Cory Stanton (Springfield) finished with 10 points, 4 assists and 4 steals while serving popcorn and refereeing the game, now thats a versatile athlete. It does seem like the 5'11 leader has been everywhere in the first week of July. Stanton has garnered offers from Lipscomb, Belmont, Tennessee State and Tennessee-Martin thus far and I have no doubt there are more to come.

In the earlier game the Tigers rallied from a big halftime deficet behind 16 from that Stanton kid to snatch a 59-56 win over the Wisconsin Blizzard. Stanton also found time to grab 4 rebounds and dish out 5 dimes. All in a day work.

Sanderson and Dezmond Johnson (Overton) finished with 10 points apiece. Johnson was huge geting big minutes while Bradley sat with foul trouble and he took full advantage including two big charges that turned the momentum of the game in the Tigers favor.

Bracket play begins tomorrow and we will keep you informed as best we can.
