The inaugural Rocky Top Girls Basketball League, known now simply as the GBL, is underway and with two weeks in the books let catch up everyone on the action.
Week #1
Team Kitts 40
Team Jones 35
Emily Wilson (CAK) and Avery Treadwell (Bearden) scored 15 and 12 respectively as Team Kitts notched their first win of the season with a handy 40-35 win over Team Jones.
Sheelove Knowles (Knoxville Webb) led Team Jones with 10 followed closely by Naomi Atchley (Maryville Christian) with 8.
Team Boatman 78
Team Armes 40
Josie Horner (Northview Academy) led five in double digits as Team Boatman coasted past Team Armes 78-40.
Karli Haworth (Alcoa) and Maci Ridge (Alcoa) chipped in with 12 each while Molly Masingale (McMinn Central) and Sidney Stinson (Knoxville Webb) added 10 each in the win.
Ashlyn Sheridan (Farragut) led Team Armes with 10 points. Shae Berry (Anderson County) finished with 8.
Team Kyle 65
Team Davis 50
Samaria Taylor (Fulton) scored a league high 22 points as Team Kyle got past a determined Team Davis 65-50.
Joining Taylor in the scoring column, Judea Taylor (Fulton) added 18 and Emily Gonzalez (Bearden) pitched in with 16.
Kayle Yates (Lakeway Christian) led Team Davis with 12 followed by Lydia Meldrum (Anderson County) and Holly Nitzsche (Sunbright) with 8 each.
Week #2 saw some roster changes to balance out the teams and proved to be an exciting day. Lets see how it all shook out.

Team Jones 44
Gabbi Lowe (Coalfield) dropped 18 markers as Team Davis (1-1) got their first victory of the season with a 60-44 win over Team Jones (0-2).
Mackenzie Bremer (Alcoa) added 14 and Karli Haworth (Alcoa) closed with 11 in the win.
Sheelove Knowles (Knoxville Webb) had another fine outing with 12 joined on the score sheet by Madelyn Ladd (Knoxville Webb) with 11.
Team Boatman 55
Team Kyle 48
Molly Masingale (McMinn Central) netted 22 points and overcame a huge 25 point effort from Samaria Taylor (Fulton) as Team Boatman moved to 2-0 on the young season with a tough 55-48 win over Team Kyle (1-1).
Foul shooting proved to be difference as the game was tight late.
Izzy Proffitt (Campbell County) added 12 in the win.
Emily Gonzalez (Bearden) had another solid effort with 14 markers in the narrow defeat.
Team Armes 50
Team Kitts 38
Ashlyn Sheridan (Farragut) dropped 18 but the overall effort of lead guard Shae Berry (Anderson County) proved to be the difference as Team Armes (1-1) gathered their first win of the season with a 50-38 triumph over Team Kitts (1-1).
Berry netted 15 markers and kept her squad in the game when things got tight late.
Sarah Burton (Clinton) added 11 in the win.
Emily Wilson (CAK) and Hannah Stephens (Bearden) had 8 each for Team Kitts.
