Rocky Top Fall League Week #5 Game Capsules, Scoring Leaders and Championship Sunday Lineup

The final regular season Saturday of the season gets us geared up for Championship Sunday in a couple days at Alcoa High School. Lets how things went down at Catholic this past Saturday.

 

 

 

 

 

Team Upchurch 51

Team Watts 47

 

Joe Anderson (Maryville) popped for 26 points as Team Upchurch won their second game in a row with a defensive oriented 51-47 triumph over surging Team Watts.

 

Kendrick Holland (South Doyle) and Will Brown (Farragut) each dropped 12 in the loss.

 

Team Upchurch (2-3) will battle Team Morton (0-5) in the opener on Championship Sunday while Team Watts (3-2) takes on Team Patterson (4-1) in the second place contest.

 

 

 

Team Steinmetz 103

Team Morton 56

 

Marcus Smith (Oak Ridge) got hot early and late finishing with 30 points as Team Steinmetz capturing their first win of the season with a 103-56 win over a severely depleted Team Morton.

 

Brett Newcomb (Stone Memorial) added 23, Javonte Thomas (Oak Ridge) had 18 and Jack Eldridge (Stone Memorial) closed with 16.

 

Team Steinmetz (1-4) will take on Team Cate (2-3) on  Championship Sunday while Team Morton gets the ball rolling in the opener against Team Upchurch.

 

 

 

Team Rocky Top 79

Team Feltner 70

 

Tevon Summer (Knoxville Central) and Ty Hurst (Carter) scored 23 and 22 points respectively as Team Rocky Top fought their way into the Championship game with a 79-70 win over Team Feltner (3-2).

 

Trey West (Fulton) added 12 in the win.

 

Ques Glover (Bearden) made his Rocky Top debut scoring 29 points in the tough loss.

 

Mello Wadsworth (Dobyns-Bennett) scored 19 while Abiah Releford (Dobyns-Bennett) added 13.

 

Team Rocky Top (3-2) will battle unblemished Team Arnold (5-0) in the championship game.

 

Team Feltner (3-2) will take on Team Haskell (3-2) in an outstanding potential contest for the 3rd place crown.  

 

 

 

Team Patterson 67

Team Haskell 64

 

Shawn Park (Gibbs) continued his outstanding season scoring 21 markers as Team Patterson secured their spot in the 2nd place game with a 67-64 win over Team Haskell.

 

Caden Cupp (Gibbs) dropped 14, freshman Charlie Rice (Maryville) added 13 and Handje Tamba (Knoxville Catholic) contributed 10 in the victory.

 

Blake Atwood (Johnson County) led Team Haskell with 20. Trent Stephney (Bearden) added 15 and Connor Haskell (Berean Christian) closed with 13.

 

Team Patterson (4-1) will tangle with Team Watts (3-2) for second place supremacy while Team Haskell (3-2) faces a stiff challenge against a seasoned Team Feltner (3-2).

 

 

 

Team Sewell 71

Dante Harris (Gateway Christian) scored 28 points as Team Sewell closed strong with a 71-66 win over Team Cate.

 

Marae Foreman (Dobyns-Bennett) added 19 while Ben Knight (Gateway Christian) and Jalen Carter (Alcoa) scored 10 each.

 

Jack Brown (FBA) led Team Cate with 17 followed closely by B.J. Edwards (Knoxville Catholic) with 16 and Turner Heitzmann (CAK) with 15.

 

Team Sewell (2-3) will take on Team Julian (2-3) on Sunday and Team Cate (2-3) will meet Team Steinmetz (1-4).

 

 

 

Team Arnold 64

Team Julian 63

 

C.J. Gettlefinger (Grace Christian) scored a game high 30 as Team Arnold kept their unblemished season alive with a 64-63 win over Team Julian.

 

The win puts Team Arnold in the championship game this Sunday at Alcoa against Team Rocky Top.

 

B.J. Marable (Grace Christian) had a solid game scoring 14 markers in the victory.

 

Akeem Odusipe (Knoxville Catholic) had a strong game scoring 24 points in the tough loss. Evan Winchester (Clinton) added 14 while Noah Savini (Sevier County) added 11.

 

Team Julian (2-3) tangles with Team Sewell (2-3).
