Rocky Top Fall League Heads into the Playoffs….Week #5 Results Here

First my apologies for the lateness of the stories, I was sidelined with a small medical procedure that kept me out of commission for a few days.

The regular season comes to an end and the playoffs have been set for this Sunday at lovely Maryville College. The game schedule will be listed below. Hope to see everyone there.

Team Lawhon 75

Team Coffin 64

Seth Lenard (Sweetwater) led the charge with 16 markers, offsetting a huge 25 point performance from Tyler Nichols (Elizabethton), Leading Team Lawhon into the championship game this Sunday, October 5th at Maryville College against the leagues lone unbeaten squad Team Upchurch.

Balanced scoring was again the catalyst for Team Lawhon with Zy Moore (Meigs County) and Dylan Brewster (Lenoir City) chipping in with 15 markers each.

Matthew Meadows (Meigs County) added 14 in the victory.

Joining Nichols in the scoring column for Team Coffin were Braxton Moore (Knoxville Halls) and Alex Graham (Karns) with 10 points each.

Team Coffin closed the season on a high note and will battle Team Garman on Sunday at MaryvilleCollege at noon.

Team Steinmetz 77

Team Watts 75

In one of the better games of the day, Jacob Cawood (Midway) continued his torrid scoring streak dropping 19 markers and helping Team Steinmetz eek out a narrow 77-75 victory over division foe Team Watts this past Saturday at Concord Christian.

Tyler Steinmetz (Oakdale) pitched in with 15 while Tajoin Jones (Oak Ridge) and Maverick Smith (Oakdale) added 14 points apiece for Team Steinmetz who will do battle against Team Sharp in the 1:00 clash at Maryville College on Sunday.

The win brought about a three-way tie in the Stokes Division that resulted in the point differential coming into play between the three teams deadlocked at 2-3, Steinmetz, Watts and Team Coffin.

The loss overshadowed the great effort of rising sophomore point guard Justin Barnett (Sevier County) who tossed in a game high 23 markers.

Ethan Loveday (Sevier County) had another solid game finishing with 15 while Drew Fugate (Gatlinburg-Pittman) and Seth Marshall (Sevier County) finished with 11 and 10 respectively.
