Rocky Top Fall League Championship Saturday Game Capsules and Final League Scoring Leaders

Championship Saturday started slow but came on big with buzzer beaters and a big time competitive championship contest. Lets see how everything went down.

ROCKY TOP FALL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSIP SATURDAY GAME CAPSULES

 

Team Patterson 84

Team Cate 78

 

Handje Tamba (Knoxville Catholic) scored tough down the stretch and converted free throws as Team Patterson came from behind to capture the opening contest of Championship Saturday of the Rocky Top Fall League by the score of 84-78.

 

Jonathan Zhao-Olmos (Sevier County) was magnificent scoring 19 and Charlie Rice (Maryville) single handedly brought back the mid-range shot with 18 markers.

 

Terrence Dorsey (Maryville) finished with 12 for the victors.

 

Isaiah Smith (Farragut) led Team Cate with 19 in the loss. Ty Hurst (Carter) added 15 while Jack Brown (Maryville) and Noah Harris (FBA) finished with 10.

 

 

 

Team Sewell 110

Team Steinmetz 92

 

Ben Knight (Lakeway Christian) saved his best for last scoring 28 as Team Sewell closed the season strong winning their last two games including this impressive 110-92 triumph over Team Steinmetz.

 

Bobby Zecchini (Jellico) had his best game of the season as well scoring 15.

 

Jonathan Milloway (Oak Ridge) concluded a solid Fall League with 20 points in the loss.

 

 

 

Team Rocky Top 87

Team Feltner 64

 

Nick Roberts (Alcoa) set the bar with a league high 39 points as Team Rocky Top closed Championship Saturday with an 87-64 win over a short-handed Team Feltner.

 

Roberts was on from inside and out, he was assisted in the scoring column by Kobe Finch (Northview Academy) and Chase Lockard (Clinton) who scored 14 and 11 respectively.

 

Dante Oliver (CAK) had his best game of the Fall League season. The rising freshman netted 27 points in the loss. Josh Templin (Cumberland Gap) added 12 and Cahlib Edwards (Bearden) finished with 11.

 

 

 

Team White 95

Team Watts 82

 

Trey Morrow (Scott), Spencer Boshears (Campbell County) and Nico Ashley (Elizabethton) netted 22, 21 and 21 respectively as Team White captured the win at Championship Saturday 95-82 over a depleted Team Watts.

 

Dalton Greer (Karns) pitched in with 15 and Adam Robinson (Fulton) added 10 in the impressive win.

 

B.J. Edwards (Knoxville Catholic) put on another show scoring 29 points in defeat. Logan Sutton (Powell) and Reid Barnes (Powell) added 11 each.

 

 

 

Team Bingham 72

Team Upchurch 71

 

Kendrick Holland (South Doyle) arrived late but managed to score 27 including the game winning three from the top of the key as Team Bingham got past Team Upchurch 72-71 in the 2nd place contest at Championship Saturday at the Rocky Top Fall League.

 

Reese Dykes (Cumberland County) added 14 in the win.

 

Josh Seiler (Maryville) had 24 for Team Upchurch. Roger Meadows (York Institute) finished with 20, Riley Cooper (York institute) added 14 and Cameron George (William Blount) closed with 10.

 

 

 

Team Boals 69

Team Biven 62

 

Marvin Castro (Sevier County) proved to be invaluable down the stretch converting free throws before an enormous three from Camden McElhaney (Sevier County) sealed the win and Team Boals took the 2019 Rocky Top Fall League championship with this hard fought 69-62 win over a very good Team Biven.

 

Castro led the scoring for Team Boals with 16. Wes Maples (Sevier County) added 13 and McElhaney closed with 10.

 

Greg Moore (Knoxville Central) was outstanding all day, having to pick up slack for an injured Tavon Summers (Knoxville Central), who took a fall that kept him out of majority of the second half of the game. He kept his squad in the lead most of the game before the late game heroics from Castro. Moore finished with a game high 23 markers.

 

Will Biven (Knoxville West) closed with 16.
