Week 2 of the Rocky Top D-League saw some definitive basketball action including a sudden death thriller and some highly competitive action for the younger generation. Lets see how things went down.
Team Dawson 76
Team Holt 69
Alex Leeth (Knoxville Webb) led a five pack of double digit scorers with 22 as Team Dawson remained in the unbeaten phase with a hard fought 76-69 win over a determined Team Holt.
Joining Leeth in the scoring parade were Seth Sutton (Gatlinburg-Pittman) with 17, Brayden Hazelbaker (Knoxville Webb) added 12, Jonah Harvey (CAK) finished with 11 and Cam Richardson (Gatlinburg-Pittman) closed it out with 10.
Jailon Hill (Knoxville West) led Team Holt with 15 followed closely by Parker Lane (Farragut) with 14 and Maurice Clark (Knoxville West) with 10.
Team Evers 74
Team Bridges 57
Carson Asbaty (Knoxville Catholic) scored early and often as Team Evers stayed unblemished with a 74-57 triumph over Team Bridges.
Jayson Gainey (Knoxville West) contributed 13 while Christopher Cowan (Knoxville West) and Aaron Layne (Kingston) dropped 12 and 10 respectively.
Eli Ownsby (Maryville) was the lone double digit warrior for his squad with 17.
Team Boles 70
Team Hall 68
Luke Robertson (Maryville) snared and scored the offensive put-back in sudden death overtime as Team Boles got past Team Hall 70-68.
Robertson had a big night netting 19 markers including the game winner in addition to the game tying three at the end of the second overtime.
Jack Townsend (TKA) dropped 19 for the victors as well.
Jack McGhee (TKA) added 14 and Jonathan Woodlee (Maryville) finished with 12 in the win.
Cam Swearingen (Knoxville Webb) had a solid outing leading his squad with 18 in the narrow defeat.
Owen Lentz (Knoxville Webb) closed with 16 including some big deep shots down the stretch and Brian Hall (Anderson County) got his 12 markers on the block the old fashioned way.
Team Keeton 72
Team Webb 64
Grady Keeton (Oneida) continued his torrid shooting pace lifting Team Keeton to a 72-64 win over Team Webb.
The win keeps Team Keeton unbeaten in the Moon Division.
Helping Keeton in the scoring column were Isaac Ratliff (Hardin Valley) with 11 and Hayden Craig (Anderson County) with 10.
Garrett Giles (Greenback) continues to raise some eyebrows with his play. The sophomore post scored a game high 20 points in the loss.
Nathan Russell (Powell) finished with 16 while Zion Oliver (Carter) closed with 11.
Team Gregory 76
Team Ingram 62
Riley Gladwin (Knoxville Catholic) and Joseph Carter (Alcoa) scored 24 and 20 respectively as Team Gregory bounced into the win column with a 76-62 triumph over Team Ingram.
Jibriel Koko (Alcoa) made his league debut with a solid 15 markers in the win.
Raquan Watson (Oak Ridge) did little to disappoint with a big 20 point night in the loss.
Ethan Jones (Oliver Springs) added 15 for Team Ingram.

Jadyn Barton (Sevier County) led all scorers with 20 as Team McGhee remained among the unblemished with a 77-55 win over Team Meadows.
Andrew Baker (Bearden) added 11 while wonder twin power David Marsh (Heritage) and Matthew Marsh (Heritage) dropped 10 points each in the win.
Barron Sheetz (Hardin Valley) dropped 18 in defeat.
Bryson Frey (Hardin Valley) closed with 12 and Christian Vela (Grace Christian) added 10.
