One of our favorite features begins again this week with the weekly scoring list. I accumulate information from around the state and put together, as best as I can with what information I can ascertain, a list of the top scoring efforts in East, Middle and West Tennessee. This first list will also include the Hall of Fame games.
We also look for interesting facts such as 1,000 point scoring milestones and other things of particular interest. If we miss a player please feel free to send me an email at andre@tnprephoops.com and I will make sure he is noticed on the following weeks scoring list.
College coaches have told me this is one of their favorite features as it helps them get an understanding on the pulse of the new season.
Blake Williams (Farragut) achieved a milestone this past week as the Farragut senior zoomed past the 1,000 point mark for his career.
Alex Poythress (Northeast) had a phenomenal opening week scoring 36 points in a win over CPA, then adding 34 in a win over Maplewood and finally ending the week with 26 in a win over Beech.
John Ross Glover (USJ) has stated his case for Mr. Basketball very early. The Lipscomb signee dropped 40 points against Brighton, 36 more against Madison and for good measure a cool 27 against Minford.
Arkansas signee Anthlon Bell (Bartlett) got off to a nice start scoring 25 points in each of his games against MUS and CBHS.
Cameron High (Lebanon) took scoring honors this week with a "high" game of 42 points against White County.
Mat Case (Cookeville) blasted out of the gate scoring 26 points against Jackson County and following up with 31 against Tullahoma.
Picking up the scoring slack for the graduated DeBrell McLemore, Kyle Tackett (Franklin) had a couple of very productive games scoring 30 points against Ezell-Harding and adding 25 against Forrest.
