The explosive sophomore had a wonderful week leading Melrose to a couple of nice victories.
Thomas was solid scoring 25 in an easy victory over Carver. He followed this up with a 31 points performance in our West Tennessee Game of the Week against Mitchell (69-62).
Brandon Lopez (Austin East) and Travai Pryor (Austin East) appear to be ready.
The above twosome look intent in the accompaning picture as they prepare for a district 3AA clash with defending AA state champion Fulton.
Those in East Tennessee know that no rivalry brings out the fans, the communities and the people like the AE/Fulton clash.
This year will be no different.
Beside Lopez and Pryor, the Roadrunners are playing well behind the steady play of Chase Jones (Austin East), the improved play of his twin brother Chance Jones (Austin East) and the emergence of the fifth starter Jamal Lundy (Austin East).
Over on the Fulton side the Falcons know when it is time to step up and they know AE is that time. James Gallman (Fulton) will lead the Falcons as they welcome their neighbor to the South. The MTSU signee knows everyone in the state is gunning for their crown, especially those guys in East Knoxville.
Jalen Steele (Fulton) has emerged as a must have recruit with his blend of sharp-shooting and smooth effectiveness.
The key to the Fulton success this season will be the emergence of Robert Boyd (Fulton) outfront.
The lengthy rising junior will be key for Coach Jody Wright as he assumes the point guard duties; as well as, his assignment of the defensive side of the ball.
This game always produces some of the best finishes and helps both tems understand state tourney intensity and atmosphere right here at home.
A must see people.
An early season battle for supremacy in district 10AAA. The stalwart Clarksville Northeast faces an upcharged Rossview squad ready to claim the crown for their own this season.
Rossview is off to a rousing start at 5-1 behind the scoring of Jonathan Williams (Rossview), the steady hand of Freddie Jefferson (Rossview) and the much improved inside prowess of Tony Childs (Rossview).
On the other side Jamarius Alderson (Clarksville Northeast) will look to be the go to guy against the pre-season district favorite.
Strong guard play from the likes of JeremyPurvis (Clarksville Northeast) and Telvin James (Clarksville Northeast) could determine the outcome of this contest.
Clarksville be ready for the first of many in this battle for district heirarchy.
Simply put Belmont is getting a good one.
Ian Clark (Germantown) continues his assault on the Germantown record books with the start of a fantastic senior campaign.
This week the 6'4 wing and Belmont signee dropped 29 points against Southwind before closing out the week with 29 more in a big 85-50 district win against Collierville.

Over in the Bluff City the games get tougher as the season moves on.
District 16AAA powerhouse Melrose welcomes longtime rival Mitchell for a game of early season power rights.
Melrose is young but dominant featuring Adonis Thomas (Melrose), "Mighty" Chris Jones (Melrose) and Nathan Rucker (Melrose). Depth and relentless effort spark the Melrose effort.
On the other side two of the city's finest backcourt men hope to handle the all out defensive assulat that will be applied by the big boys of Melrose. Mardracus Wade (Mitchell) and Russell Hill (Mitchell) are more than capable of handling the adversity and making this a ballgame.
We shall see.
