Nike Launches the EYBL at Boo Williams

Unprecedented is what they are calling it!!!!!!!!!!!

 

The inaugural Nike Elite Youth Basketball League gets underway this weekend at the Boo Williams Sports Complex in Hampton, Virginia.

 

Nike has created a new format for which the elite teams have their schedules made for the three high profile tournaments (Hampton, Va., Houston, Tx., Los Angeles, Ca.).

 

The state's two Nike programs the Tennessee Travelers and the Memphis YOMCA will each play five games with their win/loss record going towards qualification for the prestigious Peach Jam tourney in July.

 

The NEYBL will encompass all the age groups 15's, 16's and 17's.

 

The Travelers begin their summer hoopstace with games against All Ohio Red, D-One Sports, Birmingham Storm, Boo Williams and King James.

 

Lester Wilson (Carter) takes on the role of leader for the Travelers. Joining the jumping jack forward a bevy of talented guards including Rico White (Bearden), Galen Campbell (Fulton), Jordan Cross (Sullivan East), Brandon Lopez (Christ School) and Dre Matheiu (Knoxville Central).

The Memphis YOMCA will tangle with the likes of the Arkansas Wings, Arizona Stars, Alabama Challenge, Athletes First and All Ohio Red.

 

The revamped YOMCA lineup tentatively features Bobby Parks (Melrose), Telvin Wilkerson (Melrose), Karell Davis (Hillcrest), Steve Kaspar (ECS) and Johnny "J3" Williams (Southwind).
