The 2014 Las Vegas Fab 48 welcomed teams from all over the Southwest, as well as; teams from all over the country.
Little did they expect a team from Nashville, whom they referred to as "Country Boys" to make the splash they did.
8-0....that's how it finished with the Music City Heat Stars making the Arizona Magic disappear to the tune of 64-54 bringing home the title to the Volunteer state.
Thomas Booker (East Nashville) was dominant in the title game dropping 27 markers while Patrick Murphy (Independence) added 15 to bring home the gold.
Booker and his running mate Kenny Cooper (FRA) were consistently the top scorers for the Stars throughout the event averaging around 17 markers per contest over the 8 victories.
Murphy had himself a nice event finishing in double digits averaging around 10 points per contest for the event.
On the interior the Stars looked to Isaiah Blacksmith (East Literature) who was a monster on the glass snatching close to 10 boards per contest. Maurice Wright (Northwest) and Malcolm Walker (Independence) were major contributors inside. Wright was blocking shots while Walker was lauded for his rebounding and defensive effort on the interior.
Desmond Cambridge (Ensworth) was praised for his effort defensively against generally the top offensive threat the Stars played every game.
Jordan Rodriguez (Alabama) and Evin Heskje (Home School) provided quality guard play for the Stars and their unblemished run to the championship game victory.
