Once again I have scoured the newspapers, faxes, twitters and other forms of media that come to my attention compiling a list of the top scorers in the state for each week of the season.
If you know of some scoring exploits or a scoring milestone such as 1,000 point club or something of that nature please email me at andre@tnprephoops.com and I will get this added to the next week’s story.
If you know of someone who scored over 25 points and they did not make the list please let me know and I will add them to the following weeks list.
College coaches have told me this is one of their favorite features as it helps them get an understanding on the pulse of the new season.
Weather was especially brutal in the East Tennessee area causing many cancellations and future rescheduling.
Nick Young (Greenbrier) quantified a superb senior season by breaking the 1,000 point barrier last week and forever linking his name in Bobcats hoop history.
Stephen Wright (Trezevant) is quietly moving up the scoring charts in the Memphis area. Wright had a big week notching 35 against state ranked Douglas and closing with 25 against Raleigh-Egypt.
Brady Nease (Union County) has been running up the scoreboards all over East Tennessee all season. The rising junior moved past the coveted 1,000 point barrier this past week.
Cory Henley (Cannon County) is the leader of the state ranked CannonCounty squad. He had another big week scoring 28 points in a win over SmithCounty then added 30 more in a victory over York Institute.
Christian Lauderdale (Trousdale County) had quite an outing last week scoring 50 markers against Community Christian. The scoring output tied the highest effort of the season thus far. Fatodd Lewis (Raleigh-Egypt) had a 50 point effort earlier this season.
Peyton Hehe (Riverside) continues to cement his name in Riverside basketball lore. The rising senior notched his 1,500th point last week.
Isaac Edmondson (Creek Wood) is playing his best at the right time of the year. The junior wing dropped 26 against Montgomery Central then closed the week with 30 against Camden Central.
Jacob Saunders (Cheatham County) wants to make sure everyone knows about the Cubs of Cheatham County. Saunders dropped 28 in a win against Sycamore and his squad stands at 17-0 with a gaudy state ranking.
