The second annual Minit Mart Kentucky vs. Tennessee Challenge tips off at Warren Central High School in Bowling Green this Saturday, December 11th.
The administrators of the event spared no expense to bring four of the best teams in the Bluegrass state against four of the top teams in the Volunteer state.
At 4:30, Christian County of Kentucky, winners of 30 games last season will tangle with final four Class AA state tournament representative Marshall County and Vanderbilt signee Kedren Johnson (Marshall County). A classic point guard match-up between Johnson and Christian County star Anthony Hickey will be fun to watch.
Andre Hollins (White Station) and the Spartans of White Station are up next at 6:00 against Kentucky stalwart Clark County. The Spartans feature three D1 signees including Hollins to Minnesota, Marvin Williams (White Station) pledged to Lipscomb and Nino Johnson (White Station) taking his talents to Southeast Missouri ; as well as, super freshman Leron Black (White Station).
The host squad Warren Central, with Western Kentucky signee George Fant welcomes Memphis Central to the Commonwealth. The Warriors feature Jarnell Stokes (Memphis Central), Andre Applewhite (Memphis Central) and Josh Jones (Memphis Central) and are poised to be one of the teams to beat this year in the Bluff City. This game tips at 7:30 and should be an instant classic.
Sophomore sensation Nick King (Memphis East) leads his Mustangs into the 9:00 game against Louisville signee Chane "The One Man Gang" Behanan. Sophomore shooting guard Matthew Butler (Memphis East) will be huge in this one.
