Milestones Highlight Week 6 and 7 Scoring Leaders

Once again we have scoured the newspapers, faxes, face books and other forms of media that come to my attention compiling a list of the top scorers in the state for each week of the season.

If you know of some scoring exploits or a scoring milestone such as 1,000 point club or something of that nature please email me at andre@tnprephoops.com and I will get this added to the next week's story.

College coaches have told me this is one of their favorite features as it helps them get an understanding on the pulse of the new season.

This will be one of our largest efforts to date. The scoring lists will encompass the days preceding the holiday events and action that took place around the state this past week.

Oterriah Lee (CAK) etched his name in the CAK folklore scoring his 1,000 point in a victory against district foe Kingston. Lee, a rising junior point guard, has been steady and remarkably solid for the Warriors as they push Stone Memorial for district hierarchy.

LaGerald Vick (Douglass) is turning some heads in the Memphis area with his outstanding scoring exploits. The rising sophomore showed out these past few weeks including a 30 spot against Carver and a nice 28 against Raleigh-Egypt.

Hunter Bennefield (Page) made some headlines over the holidays dropping a season high 45 points against East Hickman. The rising senior guard closed the week with a chill 26 against Summit.

Christian Lynn (Goodpasture) is putting up points at an alarming rate. The juniors shooting sensation dropped a sleek 34 on Macon County and surpassed the 1,000 point mark for his career. He proceeded to notch another 27 against White House later in the week.

Ryan Gaitor (Daniel Boone) put his name alongside the best to ever play at Daniel Boone as the rising senior guard notched his 1,000 point recently.

Jacob Saunders (Cheatham County) continues to be a staple on our list. The rising junior shooting guard surpassed the 1,000 point mark this past week against Camden Central.

Jalen Smith (Rhea County) joined the 1,000 point club last week scoring 26 points in a buzzer beater loss to Bradley Central.

Jamal Worthington (Bledsoe County) is stuffing the stat sheets in his final year of high school. Worthington has two, yes two, triple-doubles over the past couple of weeks. He notched 12 points, 13 boards and 13 assists against Signal Mountain and bettered that mark with 27 points, 16 boards and 10 assists against Grundy County.

B.J. Thompson (Lincoln County) is really putting up the points as his 32 points effort against Lawrence County was only to be surpassed by his 35 point effort against Tullahoma.
